Community and Global Concerns That Need Attention What community or global concerns do you feel need attention and how would you propose to address the problem? The biggest global concern that needs attention is the runaway abuses that are occurring at the hands of business. This includes everything ranging from: environmental issues to the enormous pay packages that many corporate executives are receiving. This is troubling, because it highlights an attitude of impunity inside these organizations.

Where, the various executives are out of touch with reality, as they are focused on increasing their overall bottom line at all costs. This has created vast disparities and abuses at the hands of many different private corporations. Once this takes place consistently, it can have an impact upon the economy and various programs to protect the general public. As corporate interests are placed in front of public safety issues; increasing the chances that disasters and accidents could take place.

To mitigate these effects, some kind of global standards should be implemented for a host of various public safety issues (that could come in conflict with areas of business). One way that this can be achieved, is by effectively monitoring the activities of business on the international level. As a committee / commission will have the ability to supervise how the companies are following these different standards. At the same time, it will have enforcement powers to ensure compliance with these various regulations.

This organization would discuss and regulate a wide range of topics from: possible environmental abuses to how the actions of corporations could have an impact upon a region. This is important, because it shows how if some kind of international standards can be established for various business issues. It will help to reduce the number of accidents and hold corporations more accountable for their actions. When you put these different elements together, one could argue that this is why there are so many challenges that are facing contemporary society.

What does the concept of a global network university mean to you? How do you think studying in big city in USA for example New York City, or one of university's global sites (not in USA) would change you as a person and equip you to build cross-cultural relationships at college and beyond? The concept of global network means interacting and collaborating with students from all around the world in a virtual university.

In theory, this would have students at the physical campus be able to interact with virtual students, as a part of their educational experience and socially. These different elements are important, because they are addressing the centuries of divide that has often separated all nationalities and ethnic groups. When you have them interacting with one another on a regular basis this is helping to achieve diversity and cultural understanding. As the constant interaction will improve understanding and it will provide a more well rounded education to the student.

Studying in a big city or one of the global sites will help to broaden my perspective of the world. This would take place, by allowing me to work with individuals who share the same kind of passion for learning.
