Blog for Relgious Fubndamentalism

Fundamentalism is a global problem nowadays evidenced in its extreme by relgiosiyl inspire violence. Islam is ntoriosu for its upsurge with terrorism (Jihad), but Judaism also eviodnces polarized fighting, partiicualry in the State of Israel, and Christianity, particuallry Catholicism, is making its own ripples by pushing its agenda in a public format.

Problem of fund (*)

There are psychotherapists that coundel products of ex-fundamantlist backgrounds, and groups (Encoutner groups) that convene particularly to faciliate the meeting of one group with the toehr (Such as Arabns with Israelis in an attempt to impede the violence. Althoguh helpful, these interventions are structured to individuals who already acknowledge tha the problem exists, agree that conflict should be stopped, and are willing 'to give peace a chance'.

Those who perpetrate violence, hwoever, cotnienu unabated sicne they do so in the name of relgion and believe, from intense and unabatign socialization, that ethey are commtitgn a sacred act. Any oraganizxation tehrofe has to address this socizlizton, and has to do so from the perpetrators own perspective, i.e. It has to be an insider.

Furthermore, this organziaton cannot -- for the physical safety of leader and members -- be conducted as an offline resource. For maximum benefit -- and sicne this problem is international -- ti has to be done in an online environemtn. My idea would be to slant it as a blog.

Description of Product

The influence of bliogs* Blogs -- run in an effective manner have been known to be influenctal. If doen in an effective manner, they can attract people who are effected bya certain problem.

My research has shown me that there are products of relgious fudnamnetlist upbrignisn who do question some of the tenets fo tehri socializations. Often they appeal to their educators, or soemon in their milieu for direction, btu when dissatisfied certain idnivduals do turn to online assitance. As yet, I have found no satisfactory resource that deals with tehri questions. There are a number of sites: some cater tot ehri partiul;e religious idnoctriatnion and often condemn them fior asking their question or repson in an (it seems to me) unsatisfactory manner. Others mudsling. Consequences, again from research, appear to veer in either of two directions: some become even more extrem in tehri perspective (cionvinced that they ah ve to stifle their questions); others (unmoored from roots) often become disaffected with society.

My intention is to start a blog that features 3 or 4 facilaitors who are ex-fundamneltists from oen aprticualr relgion (e.g. Judaism). Each of tehse faciliatraros are relgious but they have a differing approach to the religon: the intentions beign to demonstrate that Judaism can contain a variety of perspectives and that Manicheanism -- the black-white thinkgin that fundamentlsit practice is not only contray to relgion but also destructive.
