There are two initial answers from my classmates, and the peer discussions represent two different topics that integrate the theories of this course. Concerning the issues, I will present current research, give my views and real-world examples of the two issues: “Airline Cancellation and Change of Policies Due to Coronavirus.” The second topic is “How Coronavirus has Caused Havoc to Livelihood of Businesses.” The two issues are current issues that are happening in the world.

Admittedly, there has been a change of policies in the airlines due to the pandemic. For example, Delta announced in July 2021 the new temporary rules it had come up with for their primary economy tickets (Gallego & Font, 2021). It clarified that from July 28, 2021, to December 31, 2021, there would be no charge of change fee for the primary economic tickets. American Frontier and Spirit Airlines made an extension of their flexible policy change to March. Therefore, most airlines did away with the change fees following the pandemic, which has resulted in hiring new workers to deal with the cancellations and delays and handling the crush.

On the other hand, the Coronavirus pandemic hit businesses when they were already experiencing turmoil. The trade worldwide dropped in the year 2019and significant declines intensified in 2020 (Dohale et al., 2021). The pandemic caused stress, and there were new beginnings for the supply chains. The government globally had challenges directing essential goods, such as medical equipment and food. Moreover, the lockdown caused an impact on small businesses as well. This is because they are vulnerable due to their limited resources.
The analytical data collected from April to June 2020 revealed that about 55% of those who responded had been affected by the pandemic (Dohale et al., 2021). Companies providing services like food and accommodation were affected mostly since 76% said that partial and complete lockdowns affected the operations of their businesses. Therefore, the loss of revenues in the business sector led to the development of new approaches to tackle this pandemic by agility, resilience, and retreat. For example, some of them adjusted their operations to have their operations resumed later.
