Financial Plans

The Ducks Poker Room was founded in 2012 and is the finest poker room in the State of Oregon. The Ducks Poker Room offers any poker game in a relaxing comfortable atmosphere. Our mission is to provide the best place to play poker.

Business/Product or Service

The Ducks Poker Room makes it is easy to play a live poker game. We provide the space, tables, chairs, chips, and dealers to give you a comfortable poker experience. Our main product is that of service and we are in the introductory stage as we are just getting started. We compete primarily on our service and the promotions that we offer. Our future plans include developing our own line of poker accessories, which provide a different revenue stream as well as tap into a different market.

The Market

We define our market as the gaming industry. This market is specific but with $1.5 million in total revenue in Eugene, Oregon, there is room for competition. We currently are trying to create a hold on the market and we believe that we can capture at least 50% of the market within 5 years because of our approach and attention to detail.

Competition

We compete directly with High Mountain Poker Palace, International House of Poker, Poker Lounge, and Full House. While we all provide the service of providing a place to play poker The Ducks Poker Room offers something more. We offer more promotions, video poker machines, and University of Oregon theme. We have a competitive advantage because of how we classify our employees and our promotions and connections to the University. We do not anticipate new companies entering this market.

Risk/Opportunity

The greatest risk associated with our business today is not keeping customers coming back. We feel we can overcome these risks because of our top-notch service, connections to the University, and our special promotions that no one else is doing. Our biggest recognized opportunities include our ability to set us apart from the other poker rooms. All the poker rooms in the Eugene area classify their poker dealers as "Independent Contractors" and are facing heat from the Federal and State Government, as poker dealers do not meet the definition of an "Independent Contractor." Our dealers are employees of the company and work on a commission base that guarantees them a minimum wage and complies with all Federal and State laws. We have the opportunity to become the only poker room in Eugene.

Management Team

The management team is led by Chief Executive Officer Brian Marzullo and President Robert Raack who founded the company. Brian Marzullo has a Bachelors Degree in Finance from the University of Oregon and an MBA from Northwest Christian University. Robert Raack has a Bachelors Degree in Marketing from the University of Oregon. Brian and Robert have a love for the game and understand the ins and outs as they each have over a decade of poker playing experience. The rest of The Ducks Poker Room team will include the best dealers in the industry who pride themselves on perfection.

Operations

We have one establishment located in Eugene, Oregon. We currently perform all business tasks in-house; financial, accounting, marketing; promotions; and inventory control. Our total staff includes 17 employees; 2 owners, 2 managers, 2 leads, and 11 dealers.

Capital Requirements & Financial Snapshot

We are seeking $100,000 which will enable us to purchase all of our assets; i.e. tables, chairs, chips, etc. As well as provide enough capital to run a successful business for 6 months while we establish our image and gain a share of the market. We expect to start turning a profit within the first 3-4 months and expect to breakeven within the 1st year. We anticipate revenues of $18,400 per month with a net income of $17,400 per month.
