¶ … Microsoft Word, entitled "Prepare for the Holidays: Write and Send a Newsletter with Word," and one training session for Microsoft Power Point, called "Animations 1: Preset and Custom Animations." I believe both skills are extremely important in all fields of activity in order to maintain a good relationship with business partners and to generate new contacts. The training for Word teaches students to compose, format, decorate and send newsletters using the resources of the software at full potential. The second training focuses on designing and implementing animations in Power Point presentations, in order to render them more appealing and to help the message get through in a more pleasant and fun way.
The first training session targets the situations in which people need to communicate with a mass in an interactive and attractive way. It is especially designed for holiday greetings and best wishes addressed to a list of contacts. In the first section, the session teaches the trainee how to create newsletters, either using ready-made solutions, such as templates, or starting from scratch and creating personal designs. The steps that are detailed in the session are focused on formatting columns, tips for creating quality letters, as well as ideas for decorations (background, borders, text effects). In the second section, the online training generally presents the mail-merge option of the software and its functions: to create address books and to keep contacts organized and easy to reach in order to make mass mailings easy. Also, the session teaches the trainee how to create envelope labels. Last but not least, the third section helps people create fun holiday decorations from paper, with creative tips and ideas.
The most important three benefits of this training, that can be used in both personal and professional lives, are the ability to keep in touch with a large number of people in a way that optimizes time and energy, the skill to create very attractive envelope labels (because first impressions always count the most) and an increase in the desire to find fun in every activity and to use all resources fully and pleasantly.
The second training session is a little more advanced, targeting people that can already create a Power Point presentation. The main goal of the training is to help people design more attractive documents, that can catch the eye and the mind. The first section details general information about the animation schemes and their power to give consistency to the presentation. The basic effects are presented: transition, entrance, emphasis & dimming and exit. Further along, as the trainee gets familiar with animations, the training session presents the methods used to apply or to remove schemes and effects to or off the slides (either all or to some of them). The last section is the most interesting one because it focuses on custom animations, giving the trainee the freedom to use his imagination when designing presentations. Firstly the animation effects are presented and the ways to add, change and remove them are detailed. The student learn where to add effects, how to do it, how to copy effects between slides of between a slide and the master, how to animate lists or text (either by word or by letter) and how to create animation sequences.
