In brief the NR.1.10 text is as follows: "A nurse executive directs the hospital's nursing services." But is then broken down into parts which are available only to the individual or group that purchases the full text copy of the standards manual for every given year. The difficulty with researching the standards is that they are not published in a way that is easily accessible for the researcher. In fact the standards tend to seem almost top secret or at the very least associated with a membership club like standard of care. The service would likely loose money if thousands of hospitals and other health care institutions did not have to purchase the manual annually, but then it would be more easily disseminated and applied in the health care setting and particularly in the educational setting. I believe the standard is adequate in its full form, but have been unable to find the full text standard to fully analyze.
