¶ … layout, response was generally positive, with 77% of respondents rating the layout "good" or "excellent." In terms of site navigation, 81% rated Facebook in one of those two classes. The ability to personalize one's page was less favorable, however, with only just 54% of respondents rating Facebook in the top two classes. Of the remainder, most were "neutral" but the level of the two lowest classes, "fair" or "poor," was higher than for any other category in the survey.

A marks went to Facebook's photo sharing function, with nearly 56% of respondents rating the site "excellent" and 83% of respondents putting Facebook in the top two classes. Scores for both privacy and networking ability were in the middle range for categories in the poll, but were overall positive with top-two scores being 67% and 68% respectively.

There were further questions in the survey. Facebook has a generally favorable reputation, with 76% of respondents grading it in the top two classes. When asked how good is Facebook overall, respondents were overwhelmingly positive. Eighty percent put it in the top two classes, but more tellingly just 4% put it in the bottom two classes. Despite the occasion misgiving about certain aspects of the site, the public views Facebook overall very favorably.

The use of Facebook is fairly widespread. Three-quarters of the respondents indicated that many of their friends use Facebook, and only 3% indicated that "some" or "few" of their friends did. This is testament to the success the site has had thus far with its viral marketing.

One area where Facebook has significant room for growth is in access from a mobile device. As addictive as the site is, 71% of respondents indicated that they never log into Facebook from a mobile device, while just 15% responded with "often" or "very often." Moreover, the majority of Facebook users spend less than an hour a day on the site. There were 12% of respondents who are hardcore users, spending 2-5 hours per day, however. That 31% spend 1-2 hours per day gives some indication of the addictiveness while at the same time allowing for the fact that there is room to grow this figure.
