In this case -- which actually involved a legal trial -- memory was once again subjected to more pervasive aspects of history, possibly most prominently that of the Israeli law that dismissed the claims of the massacre.

The reading for week 6-2 demonstrates the amount of vibrancy and effervescence that historians have by being able to access archives. The author explores this potential of the historiographer by contrasting the relationship and reliability of memory and history, particularly as the latter is related to...

However, the propensity for researchers to resurrect the lives and events of the path through simply finding out and reading about them is a principle area of focus for this article.
Lastly, the reading for week6-4 explores once again the dynamic that exists between history and memory. This relationship is examined within the context of identity as well, as the author attempts to research what role identity plays in the formulation of a semblance of truth provided by history and memory.

All of these readings allude to the complexity between what has been recorded for posterity and what has actually taken place. The subjective nature of memory -- which may fall prey to what is known as experientialism -- is referred to in more than one of the articles. It is difficult to demonstrate which is more reliable, memory itself or the highly selective process of archiving material.

Memory Search and Amnesia MemorySearch The concept of the central nervous system suggests that the brain and nervous system is an immutable object within the body that once developed, cannot change. However recent discoveries within the field of neuroplasticity have shown that the brain is indeed mutable and changing. Even following injury the brain has the ability to create modified functional structures and to create new synapses and electrical connections. The purpose

Though Kellogg developed a study with significant findings, working memory can effect more than just sentence generation. Because "heavy loads" on working memory do affect sentence generation, it is reasonable to assume that they might also affect simple mathematical processes. Do "heavy loads" placed on working memory affect just sentence generation or writing skills, or do they also affect left-brained skills like simple math calculation? Because of the effect

Post-Memory and Marianne Hirsch Marianne Hirsch discusses an important concept in Holocaust/Memory studies, post-memory. What kind of experience/process does post-memory refer to?
