......strengths include superior interpersonal skills as well as the ability to be diligent, honest and an enthusiastic worker. I am bi-lingual: I can speak, write and read fluently in two languages: English and Arabic. I also have extensive experience in applying information technology solutions to a wide array of banking operations. I have demonstrated excellence in my studies as an honor student for four straight years. I have received a Certified Corporate Governance Officer (CCGO) designation from the London School of Business and have successfully completed the Graduate Development Program for Banking and Financing Jobs Competencies at the Institute of Banking Studies in Kuwait. I also solidly maintain relationships with a number of key financial services personnel in Kuwait, including members of the Board of Directors at Ahli United Bank Kuwait (AUBK) along with high-level administrators at the Central Bank of Kuwait and Capital Market Authority. I contributed to the AUBK 2015 annual report and have overseen development of the bank's Corporate Governance and Investor Relations reports published on its website.
My main weakness resides in effectively managing my time. With so many tasks confronting me, prioritizing has sometimes been difficult. Meeting deadlines, as a result, has proven problematic. Procrastination is also a weakness.
Opportunities exist in my aim to complete the MBA program, which will open several doors to me.
Threats exist in the possibility of losing focus on the MBA objective and failing to follow through -- an event that would close several doors to me and my career.
Strategies that will be used to turn my weaknesses into strengths are: time management technique that I can apply along with daily deadline prioritization scheduling. By arranging my activities by order of deadline and placing activities that will require a great deal of attention in bold so that I know to schedule ample time for them each day prior to the close of the deadline, I will be able to more effectively manage my time and deliver on projects. In this manner, I can turn a weakness into a strength and go from being late and unorganized to being organized and on-time. In response to my procrastination, I am also employing a strategy of taking immediate action on high priority items while scheduling sufficient time for the completion of other tasks.
Likewise, if the MBA committee performed a full-body MRI on me, it would reveal an aspiring master of business administration inside scrambling desperately to get out. Indeed, completing the MBA program is not a passing impulse but is rather my overriding educational objective. In other words, I want and need what the MBA program has to offer and I will ensure that I take maximum advantage of the opportunity if it is afforded. If this opportunity is granted me, I will continue to employ the strategies that have been effective in helping me overcome my weaknesses and I will avoid the threat of failure by concentrating on my career and the fact that the MBA will put me in a better position to achieve good things in my career.
Although all MBA applicants are unique in some fashion, I believe I am also different because of this passionate desire to learn more about business operations at the executive level and to gain the knowledge and background I need to excel in the financial services sector. In sum, awarding me a scholarship to the MBA program would be a good investment that will pay long-term dividends.
Additionally, completing the MBA program will build on my existing bachelor's degree of business administration in marketing and provide me with the professional credentials I need to continue my relationship building with key members of the Kuwaiti financial services industry. I know going in that successfully completing the MBA program will provide me with the enhanced business insight that is needed to compete effectively in the 21st century marketplace as well as the ability to apply what I have learned from the course work in the workplace. From a strictly rational perspective, completing the MBA program will also help me to earn far more over the course of my career than I could likely earn otherwise and allow me to contribute to organizational success in more meaningful ways. With each of these points firmly in mind, I will work diligently to accomplish this goal and make the most of this opportunity.
