From "What a Girl Wants" to "Candyman," Christina Aguilera has proven herself to be bigger than a bubblegum diva. Her hit songs show that Christina has a remarkable versatility. The half-Ecuadorian, half-Irish singer is known for her lovely looks but it is her powerful pipes that earned Christina Aguilera a litany of awards and fans. Aguilera has won several Grammy awards including prestigious ones for best pop album and best new artist. Christina Aguilera has inspired millions of teenagers, especially young girls, to greatness. The pop star has also garnered support from industry veterans like Madonna and so has enjoyed a successful career at a relatively young age while at the same time avoiding the scandals that have besieged other stars in her genre such as Brittany Spears. At only 26 years old, Christina is already donating a great portion of her considerable earnings to charitable causes. Because of her vocal versatility, her critical and popular acclaim, and her life-loving attitude, Christina Aguilera is my favorite musician.

Aguilera's voice is as versatile as her looks. A young woman who has changed her hairstyle and hari color on numerous occasions, Aguilera's changing features are matched only by the incredible vocal range she exhibits in her songs. Some of her songs are pure bubblegum pop: easy to listen to but not terribly complex. They are sweet and lighthearted, such as "What a Girl Wants." Their themes usually center on love and romance and Christina sings them within a small musical range but one that delivers catchy lyrics with aplomb. On the other end of the spectrum are songs like "Save Me From Myself." Demonstrating stunning maturity for a girl as young as Christina, the singer stretches her voice both in terms of octave range but also in terms of dynamics. She lowers her voice to being almost a whisper before gradually building it up with the skill only a professional musician exhibits. Because of her visual and vocal range, Christina Aguilera continues to draw sold-out crowds when she tours.

The crowds Christina draws are not all twelve-year-old girls; because the artist has earned numerous critical accolades fans come in droves to see one of the most well-respected musicians in the United States. After winning a slew of Grammy awards, Christina also captured the attention of other well-respected and well-known artists in the music industry. Most notably, Christina Aguilera toured with Justin Timberlake, Pink, Mya, and Lil' Kim. She has also performed onstage with artists as prestigious as Madonna. The recognition Christina Aguilera has earned for herself make her one of the most attractive performers in the industry, but the artist is also an incredible human being.

Aguilera's fame has not destroyed her spirit, proven by the way she has balanced her sexuality with her singing and her fortune with philanthropy. Her Web site describes her primary concern as the fight against AIDS. Christina Aguilera has devoted performance time and recording time to the cause and she has also teamed with companies like MAC and ALDO to help boost awareness for their anti-AIDS campaigns. Therefore, Christina Aguilera proves herself to be a generous human being who cares for those beyond herself even though she is still young.
