Almost everyone has considered a police officer career at some point in their lives, and, while most people have gotten over this particular moment, some have actually taken the actions required for them to become officers. When hearing about a career as an officer, one most often relates to risky situations and eating donuts. However, there is much more about being an officer, with police officers being determined people that have dedicated their lives to fighting crime and helping people in need of assistance.

When I think about why I want to be an officer, countless reasons spring into my mind, making me sure that this is the job I want to choose. As a policeman, I am virtually being given the power to prevent illegalities from being performed within my jurisdiction and even achieve things beyond it, in particular occasions. It is my will to offer my services to those that need them the most and to those that have fallen victims to various offenses.

The U.S. is principally known as having one of the most democratic system in the world because of the dedication of the people toward the values and ideas that formed the basis of our founding fathers. The liberty of expression and everyone's right to pursuit his or her dream and be happy are two key ideals of our great democracy, but they could not be possible unless there was a great deal of effort put into making sure they are protected Our country is also characterized by diversity and being a police officer in the U.S. means having to face a whole variety of problems, with policemen constantly facing pressure as a result of the high crime-rate. The costs of freedom and democracy are high and such a big and diverse country can only maintain the security of her own people by having a dedicated police force that is constantly involved in the community life.
