In today's world this is no longer the case and the pressures of work are spreading to all sectors of employment and especially with the professionals. The rigors of work call for the professionals to spend more time at office in the present scenario than ever before. The problem escalates as these pressures can no longer be left at the work place and relaxation and stress relieving in the friendly atmosphere of home and the professionals were able to rejuvenate themselves for the next day or next weeks labors ahead. The pressures of work have increased all the more with mergers and downsizing becoming more and more popular in all segments of industry as they try and cut down on the staff and thereby their wages bill to become more competitive in a global environment. (Can Workplace Stress Get Much Worse?) The spread of work to the home from for the professionals has come from the same devices that were meant to reduce their workload and make them more efficient. These devices include the e-mail, fax, voice mail and the cellular phones. Instead of completing the work and leaving the office environment back at office to go home at the end of the day, these new devices extend the office environment to their homes and assist in transferring the office environment to their homes. (How to reduce stress at work) These devices only cause the professionals to carry their work with them wherever they are with no respite from it.
These devices do provide a way for the organization and its employs to present a more customer friendly face, as the customer do have access to the necessary people at any given day and at ant given time and this may lead to better revenue generation and thereby increased profits when looked at it from that angle.
