¶ … Taiwanese Chinese person and a college graduate. Included in the completion of my degree are a B.S. In International Business and a B.S. In Computer Information Systems. In terms of my future goals, I believe a postgraduate degree from the San Francisco State University will equip me adequately for what I have in mind.

I am currently employed as a Garment Quality Control Assistant Manager in Singapore. While this is a fulfilling job, I would like to expand my horizons to better suit the studies I have already completed, as well as the further studies I intend to pursue. If I successfully complete my postgraduate studies, future job prospects will prove more promising. My knowledge in International Business and Computer Information Systems will in this way help me to further my career either at my own company, a new company, or indeed at a company that I start on my own.

Furthermore study at San Francisco State University will improve my language and international communication skills. This will further supplement my knowledge and expertise in International Business. Working and living in Singapore also addresses only my own culture and horizons I have grown up with. Studying at a foreign University will further expand my horizons and possibly offer new job and business opportunities.

When pursuing a degree in San Francisco, I look forward to interacting with my fellow students and professors in order to not only improve my communication skills, but also to elevate my level of education. Improving my English communication skills is vital in pursuing my future career opportunities. English is an internationally understood language, and any businessperson is required to have at least a working knowledge of the language. However, a high level of English communicative competence would not only impress one's business partners and associates, but also provide a solid basis of understanding all business procedures, contracts and deals. This can only improve business relations throughout the world.

Another aspect of studying in San Francisco is that it will bring me into closer contact with the American and specifically the San Franciscan culture. Interacting from people with other cultures, including the various cultures within the San Francisco area, will furthermore develop my intercultural sensitivity and skills. Postgraduate study is especially useful for this, as most of the basic language barriers have been dealt with in my first years of study.

Communicative and computer competence of course goes hand in hand. This is something I also hope to improve and integrate during my studies in San Francisco. With the new knowledge and skills I acquire through postgraduate study, I can then integrate what I have already learned through my previous studies and my work with what I will learn in the future. This learning paradigm will then help me to pursue my future career and business goals.
