The main difference between the Canadian and US healthcare system is the cost per person that the governments incur, which shows how efficiently the budgeting and resource allocation is done for each of the nation’s people. Canada incurs $7,000 per person, whereas the same cost is $10,000 per person in the US (Ross University, 2021). Although both countries are some of the top-ranked countries in terms of healthcare services and two of the world’s affluent countries, there are still differences in the mechanisms of each country’s governance.

The government does Canada’s medical coverage for each citizen’s medical care given by a hospital or general practitioner (GP) (Ross University, 2021). It is considered illegal to get services through private insurance when the government insures the same services. The services where private insurance works are dentistry and cosmetic service (Ross University, 2021). The doctors are not owned by the government directly, and the high earning class of the country has to pay high taxes for medical conveniences.

The case is different in the US: the middle or low-middle class get their insurance usually through Medicaid; however, half of the population gets insured through private insurers (Ross University, 2021). The Affordable Care Act certifies that even private insurers must meet certain criteria to be eligible for the plan. There are special clauses for seniors and children, while pregnant women ad disabled people are also given certain privileges. There are high premiums that US citizens have to bear with these conveniences, even if their company’s employers cover them. NCBI has reported that the US healthcare system might face bankruptcy since the deductibles are too high for the US citizens to be paid and their access to medical assistance remains challenged (Ross University, 2021).

The Bible suggests that it is wise to care for your body where the God and Holy Spirit dwell within the hearts of humans and the family. It is cited as “On hearing this, Jesus said, It is not healthy who need doctor, but the sick”- Matthew 9:12 (Chery, 2022).
