¶ … Motivating Teams What three suggestions would you offer that might assist managers in satisfying the needs and wants of team members? I will give following three suggestions to managers that might assist satisfying the needs and wants of team members: Because teams members look for sustenance, safety, security, belonging, recognition, and a sense of growth and achievement, so managers may look for different avenues to satisfy the above needs.

Management may re-visit the team's purpose or mission to make sure that team's purpose or mission is aligned with personal wants and needs of the team members. Management should periodically stimulation some achievable challenges for team members. Management should be willing to provide training to the team members for learning new concepts, adding to their skill base, and stretching their mind. Question 2: What types of factors can also impact a team's level of effectiveness? Identify at least three.

Answer: The following three factors can also impact a team's level of effectiveness. Empowerment: Empowerment reduces absenteeism and turnover. It also increases safety of the workplace (Grazier, 2003). The use of training and recruiting those people who are receptive to working with others (Kuritzkes, 2003). The use of a management structure that complements the team organization (Kuritzkes, 2003). Question 3.

In addition to purpose and challenge, what are the other four key characteristics of highly motivated teams? Of the six characteristics, which three would be the most important to you as a team player? Please explain why you selected each of the three characteristics? Answer: The four other characteristics of highly motivated teams are: Camaraderie: Comradeship, fellowship, and loyalty are important so that team members like each other and work hard to develop and maintain their friendships (Grazier, 2003).

Responsibility: Responsibility and authority are important for increasing the challenges of the work (Grazier, 2003). Personal Growth: Personal growth is important as it adds value to the individual self-esteem and self-worth (Grazier, 2003). Leadership: Team leadership is important as good leaders provide the stimulus for self-actualizing behaviors (Grazier, 2003). To me personally, challenge, camaraderie, and personal growth are most important. I selected these three characteristics because I am motivated in doing my best in accomplishing the challenging.
