¶ … students to use their graphical design knowledge in order to demonstrate a thesis, which they will have researched during the course of the fifteen weeks that class is in session. Students will come up with a thesis, or some sort of argument that they want to make, based on their observations and topics that interest them. Students should not become overly committed to a topic, however, as their research may take them in other directions. Furthermore, students need to insure that they do not choose a thesis that is obvious or claim to prove anything. The thesis proposal, which should be rather short, will serve as a roadmap for the creation of the thesis and research, though it may change as the research process continues. Students will research their thesis using quality sources from books, media, and the web, in addition to other sources like interviews. Finally, students will choose a form of media through which to present their thesis. The process book is a log of the work that the students have done, including success, failure, research, etc.

For a student of graphic design, this class will be much different than others, which tend to focus on creativity, as well as the more technical aspects of design. In this course, students will act more like researchers and scientists than designers. This course will be invaluable because it will teach students not only to come up with a unique design that fits together with some research, but instead to learn how to conduct research themselves, and then mold their designs around the research. This will allow students to understand the process of researchers, and to come to the project with a different viewpoint. It may even convince many students that in the course of their professional work, they should learn more about the research before designing products, etc.

This research will fill in a gap that was discovered in the literature review. There have been many, even in an academic setting, that have made comments regarding the effects of email on the student environment. However, there have been no significant studies to substantiate these claims. This study will fill in the existing gap in research and will examine the actual importance of email to the academic setting. Chapter

sleep and electronics. In particular, this research paper aims to explore the possible effects of screen time on sleep, based on experiences from participants in a survey. Prior to conducting the survey, the hypothesis was 'more screen time equals less sleep time'. Surveys are a valid research method to help test hypotheses by collecting information in the form of responses from target populations. By asking if screen time (e.g.,

Creating Effective Interventions to Reduce or Eliminate Cyberbullying Unit 1 MBA 5652, Research Methods David E. Couch Jr. The proposed research study explores the perceptions of secondary students with regard to cyberbullying interventions. The hypothesis of the study is that students' perceptions of cyberbullying will be influenced by the instructional and curricular intervention as measured by increased empathy and willingness to report or intervene when they learn about or witness cyberbullying. The research

A change in any one of the factors has to be 'compensated' by changes in the other two" (p. 27). Consequently, the type of instructional practices that may be best suited for one learning venue will likely be unsuitable and therefore ineffective in another setting. The goal, then, is to identify the optimal mix of the three elements to produce instructional practices for each setting (Koehler et al., 2004),

grades of students' team taught and student not team taught in the MAE504 course at taking Trident University. In the quantitative research, carrying out a statistical analysis to answer the research question can be challenging for many students. The study discusses different statistical tools that can be used to analyze the data to compare the variable team taught students and variable non-team students. The discussion will assist students in

The study used student projects as the main vehicle for integrating active learning methods into the lecture. The study took place during a 10-week class, with four projects being assigned to groups of size four to six. Projects centered on (1) statistical tests of goodness-of-fit; (2) design of a simple experiment and analysis of variance using two factors; (3) factorial design experiment and analysis; and (4) regression analysis.
