Each of these systems of compensation seeks the differentiation between the pay of an average performer and that of an outstanding performer. Benefits are normally added to the monetary compensation in order to attract, retain and also motivate employees within a work environment. Employee benefits therefore include medical insurance, dental insurance, time off for illness, retirement plans, tuition reimbursement, child care and many others. These benefits are mostly not taxable to the employee but they are deductible by the employer.
