Messmer adds that Verizon has identified that some attacks originate from insiders who collaborate with cybercriminals or engage in risky cyber activities—particularly within real estate contexts. For example, some users exchange emails containing malicious attachments, which creates an ideal avenue for attackers. These threats may be intentional or unintentional. Verizon notes that addressing such insider risks requires organizations to implement employee training programs. Training is therefore a central component of Verizon's cyber-threat mitigation strategy, and the company actively collaborates in such initiatives to ensure safety for consumers and businesses alike.
