One of the many significant figures of the Old Testament is the man David, who was a simple boy who herded sheep, who ultimately led his people and others to triumph over a tyrant warrior, Goliath. David was a young man, armed with a slingshot and brought the vicious leader down. David was quite a popular figure artists depicted during the Renaissance era in the arts, particularly in the area of sculpture. There are three most notable sculptures created in Florence during the Renaissance era. The sculpture created most famously by Michelangelo Buonarotti is a move into the period known as High Renaissance, which the paper will explore forthcoming. The statues of David retain a special connection to the city of Florence as well as to the overall significance to overall art history.

People in the position of power have the authority to influence the world around them. With this power should come responsibility. Those with the power to change the world must stand behind their actions.

Higher education is the foundation for growth within our global economy. Students, who properly utilized the system to its fullest extent, garner life altering skills and abilities. These skills, which are often transferable from industry to industry further, enhance the quality of life for society. Many of the world's brightest students help create, lead, and establish many of the world's dominant organizations. These organizations, in turn, create goods and services that provide a compelling value proposition for the consumer. Without the aid of higher education, and the subsequent benefits derived from participation, many of these individuals would not have made the significant contributions to society that they have. It is therefore logical to continue to preserve the higher education system so that the next generation of students can further enhance the quality of life for society. Opportunities abound, particularly within the millennial generation, predicated on the ubiquitous nature of information sharing (Veblen, 1918). The ability to gather, analyze and disseminate information has never been as robust as it stands today. Higher education has a very bright and prosperous future ahead (Ewell, 1999). Therefore people believe the subsidization of higher education is warranted. I believe that ultimately, the individual student should finance their own ventures.

This paper discusses the notion of a simulacrum, or a false form of representation that comes to seem more 'real' than the real thing or to dominate the real thing in the cultural landscape. Unlike a copy, the simulacrum originates before 'the thing itself.' A good example of a simulacrum is a false, idealized image of a perfect life in a magazine. Real people then strive to 'copy' and shape their lives based upon this false ideal.
