Science and Fiction the Film Moon (2009)
Science and fiction are interrelated when it comes to the overall theme of the film "Moon", the book "Oryx and Crake", and the article "Evolution, Creativity, and Future Life". In order to depict all possible scientific advances to a much broader audience, it is presented as a fictional portrayal. By doing so, ideas that may not be ethically permitted in real life are possible through these mediums.
Prevention of Obesity
As in most of the nation, the obesity epidemic threatens public health in Los Angeles County. Obesity increased from 13.6% to 22.2% in adults between 1997 and 2007. Most of the research shows there are marked disparities in the county based on income, education, and lifestyle choices. There are, however, similar risk factors that everyone in the county shares. This is actually crucial to an overall analysis of county problems. In 2006, the cost of obesity just for LA County was over $6 billion in health care and loss of productivity.
Effect of Video Games on Children
Owing to the advent of digital media over the past few decades, technology has taken over many dimensions of the world and given the media a 360 degree turn by entirely switching the way it previously worked. The computer era not only changes the way transactions were done, documents were prepared, statistical tools were used and made the world global but it also changed the way sports and games were played. It converted the physical playground into a virtual one to quite a great extent and now, computer video games have become an increasingly important phenomenon of today for the entertainment of kids who now believe in virtual playgrounds (Anderson, Gentile, & Katherine E, 2007).
