What is Contrast?

Like a compare and contrast essay, a contrast essay asks you to choose two or more items and ideas and write about them.  However, instead of highlighting similarities between the two things, a contrast essay will describe how they are different.  It is important to note that, in order to have an effective contrast essay, there must be some similarities or shared middle ground between the things being contrasted.  A contrast essay that focused on the differences between a roller skate and the planet Jupiter would contain a lot of contrast, but would be almost incoherent.  However, a contrast essay that focused on the differences in Earth and Jupiter would start from the point where they are similar (planets in the same solar system) and then highlight differences.

Nutritional assessment and dietary habits: a case study of two individuals
Nutritional Assessment is a detailed evaluation of objective as well as subjective data, relating to an individual's food intake, along with giving due consideration to factors such as medical history and lifestyle of the said individual. The purpose of a nutritional assessment is to identify the malnourishment and/or undernourishment in an individual's diet and to eradicate the factors that make it unhealthy and unfit. Once the data relating an individual's eating habits has been collected and organized, it can be used to evaluate the nutritional status of that person. The assessment is followed up by a plan to either intervene or to devise a new proper nutritious diet plan to help the individual attain a healthier status (Carol Rees Parrish, August 2003).

Contemporary relevance of Maslow's hierarchy of needs in organizational behavior
Maslow's hierarchy of needs was first published in 1943 and has become increasingly marginalized given what has been learned since about human behavior. This research report examines recent research into the relevance of this model for predicting human behavior in the workplace and the wider community. Rather than dispensing with Maslow's model altogether, there seems to be sufficient support for elaborating and revising the model. These conclusions are discussed at length.
