Abstract This text concerns itself with the events surrounding the 1972 burglary attempt at the Democratic National Committee's headquarters. This burglary came to be known as ‘the Watergate Scandal.' President Richard Nixon was implicated, alongside some of his top aides, and as a result, he consequently became the first United States president to tender his resignation.

The main thrust of the paper is to explain rational choice theory and how it has been used as a basis for the deterrence of crime in the United States.

This paper provides an overview of the state and federal court systems in the State of Georgia. This paper looks at the history of the juvenile justice system in the United States and current issues such as transfer laws. The juvenile court system was enacted because people realized that youth should be rehabilitated rather than given the same punishments as adults. However, transfer laws and SCOTUS cases are reversing some of the gorund gained by these early reforms.

Women have always been discriminated in various sectors of the society. This study has focused on the role of the ecclesiastical courts in perpetuating and passing discriminative rulings against women in medieval Europe. Although the religious were lenient in their rulings, this study has shown that they not any better. In areas like murder or adultery where a man and a woman 'cooperated', this study has clearly shown that women were punished harshly.
