Criminal justice is a very important area of study, and has been for some time. However, it is also a seriously changing field where there are many different attitudes, ideas, and opinions being presented. This paper addresses the issue of criminal justice today and how it has changed throughout the years. The current state of criminal justice is very different from what it was in the past.

In the United States, the legal system is an interconnected system of regulatory, governmental and judicial authorities that operate under the Constitution and Bill of Rights of the United States, various State and Local Constitutions and laws, and agreed upon standards. The overall system operates at the federal, state and local level through Federal Courts, State Courts, and Governmental Regulatory Agencies.

Briefly describe the concepts of federalism and separation of powers

This paper examines the historical development of police agencies in the United States based on the early policing styles in England. The analysis also includes a discussion of the jurisdiction of these agencies and their role in contemporary society. The other part provides a description of the main types of law enforcement agencies including federal, state, and local agencies and their various departments.

Law – Juvenile Justice The current U.S. Juvenile Justice System is burdened with underlying problems contributing to juvenile delinquency. There is a direct link between child abuse, child neglect, mental illness and juvenile delinquency. In addition, due to inadequate responses to those underlying problems, the juvenile justice system is forced to deal with problems for which it is decidedly inappropriate and incompetent. In the future, the Juvenile Justice System must deal with all the current problems and find adequate responses, including but not limited to a multidisciplinary approach that will combine the resources of educators, law enforcement, social workers, mental health professionals, lawyers, judges and community members.

Contracts seem to occupy a minor slice of society, but most interactions between businesses and individuals are governed by these commercial instruments. Most are in written form and regulated by both statutory and common law.
