Diabetes is a health condition which impacts numerous Americans; certain manifestations of diabetes can be prevented and can be thwarted using caution and intelligent diet and lifestyle choices. This memo looks at two websites geared for different audiences and how they deal with the issue of diabetes and the differing needs of the website visitor.

The marketing strategy for products and services rests on the principles of market demand and consumption. The consumers hold the primary importance in marketing and studies of consumption patterns.

Abstract Effective planning is one of the keys to successful projects. Childhood obesity is essentially one of America’s toughest health concerns. California, which forms the basis of this text, has approximately 35.4% of its population as obese. Out of this percentage, approximately 18.3% are children aged below five, and adolescents between the ages of 12 and 20. It is speculated that by 2030, more than half of the Californian population will be obese. This text develops a comprehensive, while-of-community plan for childhood obesity-prevention in Pinole, Laurel Park and Marina Bay.

This paper provides a critical review of Dr. John P. Kotter's text, Leading Change (1996). Dr. Kotter, a professor of leadership at Harvard Business School, describes the challenges involved in effecting organizational change and outlines eight steps that should be followed to help guide the process. These eight steps are described and a summary of the research is presented in the conclusion.

Carrefour Group is a large multinational retailer; the second largest in the world. Through over fifty years of dedicated efforts, Carrefour is now the largest retailer in Europe and second largest in world. A literature review was conducted to see how an ABC costing method could potentially benefit this retail giant. It was found that the ABC costing method could provide more accurate costing as well as support a strategy to improve quality in the organization. However, many limitations to the system were also identified. One limitation is that the system is complex and often requires a great deal of employee training to administer the system. This could be a major limitation in such a large retailer as Carrefour. Therefore, since the ABC could add significant value to the organization but the implementation of the system has a specific set of risks, it is recommended that the organization experiment with an ABC costing approach in a regional territory and with products that could relevant to such a system.

This is a weekly project portion dealing with research methods. The overall advantage to doing combining methods seems to focus on the ability to utilize the best of each method. At times, using just the qualitative or quantitative approach provides too narrow a view which is often misleading when one wishes to extrapolate the data into different areas or disciplines. When doing research that has a social aspect (biological, psychological, etc.)

Studies among PTSD patients, for instance, show that those with higher anxiety and deviant tendencies have smaller hippocampus regions. Other studies have shown that the corpus callosum, which coordinates right and left brain activity, may disconnect at times and cause information or senses to be mixed or awry between the hemispheres, resulting in lack of social conscious or potential for deviance.

This paper discusses various philosophical schools of thought, including existentialism, realism, and rationalism. In each of these schools of thought, there are aspects which are favorable and those which are not so favorable. Despite the fact that these philosophies have existed for centuries, they still have present importance.
