What is Exemplification?

 

An exemplification essay is a very detailed type of argumentative essay that relies upon specific examples to prove the argument.  These specific examples can be case-study or anecdotal examples that describe a particular person, place, or event.  They can also be broader, such as sighting scientific proof for a concept.  While all argumentative essays require the writer to take a position, exemplification essays often appear more biased because their format does not usually allow the writer to consider the opposing viewpoint or position.  Our exemplification essay examples show you how to use specific examples to help bolster your position in an argument, provide an outline for an exemplification essays, and suggest topic-specific resources to help you with your own writing.
