In this paper, we are going to be looking at the Allied operations in North Africa during World War II (i.e. Operation TORCH). To fully understand what happened we will examine the objectives of each side and their vulnerabilities. Once this takes place, is when we can offer specific insights that will determine how these factors would affect the operation itself and the outcome of the war.

General electric is operating under turbulent internal and external environments. The SWOT analysis reveals that the strength of GE has made the company to dominate the markets over the years. The company is still facing threat of competitors despite its strength. The PESTLE analysis shows the external environment that the company is operating. The Porter five forces analyze the company competitive environment. The company has power over the buyers. With the competitions that the company is facing, GE does not have power over the buyers. GE needs to take the advantages of economic of scale, and use procurement and outsourcing techniques to lower costs and deliver value to its customers.

The paper analyzes the government-university-industry consortia (GUI) collaboration for the development of Photovoltaic power systems in German. The paper reveals the government effort for the development of PV energy systems. Since 1990, German government has assisted in the research and development (R&D) of PV technology, and the government has disbursed several million of dollars for the development of PV technology. The collaboration of the universities and the industries has also led to the rapid development of PV technology in Germany. The GUI collaboration has enhanced the costs reduction of Photovoltaic energy systems. However, the research findings show that PV investment is still expensive. The paper recommends that a firm that intends to enter the PV market should collaborate with the government to have to enjoy financial, logistics and administrative supports.

1 Introduction This study is motivated by theoretical and pedagogical interests: to inform instructional design intended to integrate language and content and to explore how form and meaning intersect in SLA. Both interests draw on an extensive body of research that encompasses theory and practice underlying three different yet related frameworks and lines of inquiry: content-based language teaching, form-focused instruction and attention and awareness in SLA. All three of these areas are linked by a concern with the intersection of form and meaning in second language classrooms. Content-based language instruction was originally inspired as an alternative to traditional approaches to language teaching that favored form over meaning. Form-focused instruction brought language form to the foreground when meaning-focused, content-based approaches relegated the learning of language form to an incidental role. Research in attention and awareness has explored a focus on form and meaning as internal learner processes. The research questions guiding the present study were motivated by an interest in these areas.
