As a renowned Genevois philosopher, I, Jean-Jacques Rousseau feel obliged to comment on the economic theories set forth by my contemporary Adam Smith in an Inquiry into the Nature and Causes of the Wealth of Nations.

This paper is a literature review on resilience in children and its impact on their growth and development of children. The paper starts with an introduction, subsequently it delves into the background of resilience. Thereafter it highlights the weaknesses if research carried out on resilience and the context and research questions most of these studies focused on. The paper subsequently discusses the results of these studies and describes two prominent researchers of resilience. Lastly, the paper describes the implications for policy makers.

This paper discusses the efficacy of Hong Kong's policy on its Elderly Healthcare Voucher Pilot Scheme by using the Australian model of healthcare. It discusses policy, policy cycle, the 6 stages of the standard policy cycle, the 8-step policy model introduced by Althaus, Bridgman and Davis and the results of studies on the success or failure of Hong Kong's voucher scheme. It also identifies the weaknesses of the scheme and presents recommendations and how Hong Kong compares with 5 other Asia-Pacific countries in healthcare.

While building a comprehensive theory, or a comprehensive approach to counseling, it is important that we answer the question: What is the definition of illness? What are the elements in a comprehensive definition of “cure”? What needs to be cured? What is it that’s going on in illness that needs to be addressed, that needs to be cured? What needs to happen for a sick person to be declared well? We need to talk about the development of the techniques that would govern or guide a therapeutic process that would bring people to a point of healthfulness.

This paper discusses two theories of development - Piaget's theory of cognitive development and Kohlberg's theory of moral development. It presents the four stage of Piaget's theory and the goals that a child must achieve in order to progress to the next stage. For Kohlberg's theory, the six stages, divided in three levels, are discussed.

This paper reviews three different articles that describe the manner in which children conceive of, and learn about chronology and time. The idea of time is quite complex, and research shows that it is often difficult for the early learner to understand the concept of chronology in more than a past, present and future model.
