Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus can have a circular effect on the pancreas; though it is typically a structural and/or functional degradation in the pancreas that brings on Type 2 (as well as Type 1) Diabetes Mellitus, the start of the disease can lead to further degradation of pancreatic structure and function in a circular pattern that will increase insulin resistance and reduce insulin production by breaking down the cascading cycle of insulin production and consumption that occurs
