He was said to of studied gravitation and the motion of planets in his free time, which is not something that I or anyone I know is likely to do. When Newton returned to a public life, he had solved some of the problems other researchers were working on during this time with his development of calculus. For example, proposed that the planets had to move in an elliptical path following the inverse square of the distance between the planets and the sun. Isaac Newton’s life was definitely more interesting than I would have ever imagined.
