Personal Selling in Hospitality
Personal selling in the tourism and hospitality industry is an essential part of destination and hotel sales, driving base demand, creating awareness, and is becoming more competitive than ever before as organizations' continue to learn the benefits of this marketing component. This paper will analyze some of the traits that could be associated with the ideal salesperson in this industry by reviewing the literature as well as conducting an interview with a marketing professional who is a representative of the Hilton Hotel organization. Above all other traits, it was found that the ideal salesperson should have impeccable interpersonal skills that can address the personal issues that a potential client may have and solve their unique problems. Customer's problems are ultimately their needs and these needs can be met by tailoring the marketing message in a personalized way to address the individual needs found in potential clients.…

Personal Nursing Philosophy
Throughout the history of nursing, from its origins in the dressing of ancient battle wounds to the founding of contemporary nursing practices in the 19th century, nursing has always played a significant role in the lives of all people. The care provided by nurses is traditionally related to physical preservation and comfort, thus the nursing position has customarily been connected to humanistic healthcare that nurtures, supports and comforts patients. My personal philosophy of nursing is based on the belief that a human being's personal health and their physical environment are inherently linked, because a person is affected every day by environmental influences, including secondhand smoke, genetically modified food, and poorly made cosmetics. The health of every human being can be seriously affected, both directly and indirectly, by external factors in their own environment. Thus, the nursing care every patient receives should be adapted for that individual, because…

Written Change Plan
Change goal: Become an assertive individual who can voice opinions and requests in a tactful manner that increases communications harmony.
Expected process for implementing the change: First, I will attend a weekend seminar on how to become a more assertive person. Then, I will purchase books and other helpful resources that will help retrain my thoughts and behaviors. Currently, I struggle asserting myself. Afraid to speak up, I sometimes hold in my true feelings until an outburst happens. The last phase in the change process is to put what I learn into practice. This means recognizing the small incidents in which I demonstrate the new behavioral change.
By attending the weekend seminar, I connected with others who also want to improve their communication style and ability to be assertive. These people became new colleagues who can support me as I implement the desired…

Personal Leadership Plan
The environmental factors that influence individuals', companies', organizations' behavior require that people benefit from the influence of a strong leader. In an environment with different types of change levels, it is important that people feel the strength of a leader that is able to point them in the right direction, to allow them the resources they need, and to give them the constructive feedback they require in order to reach their objectives. Leaders must be able to adapt their leadership style in accordance with the requirements of each situation, and not be rigid in a certain leadership style.
In order to become successful leaders people must develop a plan. This is important because it…

Personal Philosophy of Education
My Personal Philosophy of Education
My educational philosophy is dynamic. It has been evolving over time. In my opinion, the educational needs of learners keep changing in our ever-changing world. In that regard, a teacher's approach to education must not be rigid. My educational philosophy is largely centered on a number of issues. These include education and its key purpose, the role played by not only the teacher but also the students in education and lastly, the interrelationship between the teacher and the community.
Being one of the oldest professions in the history of mankind, the relevance of teaching as a profession cannot be overstated. Over time, the prosperity and growth of civilizations has largely been founded on knowledge passed on from one generation to the next. The technological advancements we marvel at today are a direct consequence of past knowledge that has been preserved, advanced…

The microbrewery business is booming in America, and my skills as a brewer will enhance the quality of both the beer and the business of brewing. Combining adept marketing skills with a being a third-generation brewer, I have a unique personal portfolio. Breweries in the United States will be proud to have me on board, as I will help them reach and also expand their target market.
To promote my services as both brewer and brewery business consultant, I have been using the tools of social networking. Befriending brewery websites has allowed me to keep abreast of industry trends, including new brewery openings and expansions. Moreover, I am thoroughly networked within the beer community. Attending local, national, and international beer tasting events has been a boon for my presence in the industry. I shall continue to network, which is the best way to achieve recognition and success…

During my 4-year period as a college student, I studied Marketing and in my second year, I decided to discontinue the course in favor of Information Systems. The information industry is becoming more prominent in the running of most businesses and corporations and is becoming the source of solutions to most information management issues. In this regard, a personal computer is necessary for business as well as domestic usage and since computer technology affect most organizational activities. The demand for IT educated individuals has been on the rise.
The major reason behind choosing the course is due to the fact that I find it interesting and that I will gain more knowledge on several information platforms and services. My major is Human Resource and minor is Information System. I apply for Master Degree of Science in Information Systems since I believe only one major is not enough competitive…
Being a student is very difficult in the best of times but even more so today with all the external pressures associated with education including economics and sociological pressures. There are stresses all around students in college, everywhere they look. Students feel pressure to do well, to learn the material, to impress the teacher, to please their parents, to take care of themselves financially and sociologically. For many students, college will be the first step into adulthood and the first time that they really have to take responsibility for their own lives. A person finally breaks free from their parents or guardians and has to do for themselves. Therefore it is important to accept this responsibility and also to be accountable for choices and the actions that are perpetrated by the individual. One of the ways that a person can take responsibility for themselves is to reduce the…
Personal Ethics Development
A personal ethics system is a category of philosophy that stands apart from other ethical systems such as business ethics, legal ethics, value ethics, or any of the other various ethical perspectives. The component that makes a personal ethical system special is that it is uniquely derived from an individual's experiences and beliefs. Although an individual's ethical system may share overlapping material from more formal systems, it also includes personal insights, one's sense of consciousness, and even feelings of guilt. Personal ethical systems may be influenced by factors such as culture, religion, philosophy, or simply everyday experiences. Although some personal ethical systems are certainly more developed than others, there really isn't a correct answer or opinion in the development of these individual systems; rather just different stages in development.
As children we are not born into the world with a set of beliefs nor are these beliefs…

Personal and Professional Skills for Strategic Goals
Personal and Professional Skills for Achieving Strategic Goals
In order to achieve strategic goals in life, there are many personal and professional skills that are needed. Some of these skills blend and can be used in either scenario (i.e. personal or professional), while other skills are more specific to one scenario or the other and do not "spread" to the other scenario very easily. Additionally, not everyone looks at their goals and the forming of strategy for those goals in the same way, so what one person sees as being valuable in order to meet strategic goals might be completely different from what another person sees as being valuable for his or her strategic goals. When considered carefully, there are only so many strategies available and the best thing to do is to locate the one that works for the person and his…

Personal Education Platform the Internship
The key components of a successful internship experience include the following: that you learn necessary skills to help your future career, that you meet people who will be able to help you both in the present and in your future career, that you gain experience which you can use later on in life, and that you have the ability and opportunity to ask whatever questions are necessary to help you understand the job, the environment, and your role within the field. The only way to truly gain something from an internship is to feel that you are contributing by being there and also that you are learning from the experience. If you only show up and do the assigned tasks without really investing yourself then it will be unlikely others will invest in you and you will leave the internship without having learned very much.…
PESONAL & OGANIZATIONAL ETHICS
Personal and Organizational Ethics Values for, for-Profit and Non-Profit Organizations
Ethics is a requirement of the society to both individuals and organizations. Ethics are applied to business and personal behaviors, and are used to determine how companies and individuals abide to policies. To indicate the application of ethical principles in organizations, an analysis is carried out of For-Profit and Non-For-Profit organizations, in this case Bank of America and Boys Club of America. This is by analyzing an ethical dilemma they are experiencing, their approach to the problem, and the legal, political, and social outcomes emerging from this cause of action.
The Boys Clubs of America is a non-for-profit organization founded in 1860s in Harford, Connecticut Formed with the aim of giving boys who roamed the streets a positive alternative. The club has undergone major changes beginning in 191 when several boys' clubs affiliated to…

Personal Perspective on Changes That Occur Throughout Early, Middle, And Late Adulthood
One of the more interesting things about aging is just how differently people go about the process. In my experience, many people seem to grow older and change very little from their early to late adulthoods as a result, keeping the same interests, friends, spouse, home and job for years and years. For instance, I know one elderly widower, "Mark," who has conducted petroleum engineering seminars in several states nine months a year for more than 30 years. Besides some minor administrative work and continuing education, Mark has the rest of the year to himself and he participates in a number of leisure and recreational activities, some of which he takes seriously. For instance, Mark is still an accomplished ballroom dancer despite his somewhat advanced age (73 years), and he has played tournament bridge games in Las Vegas…

Of course, the differences in countries and cultures are, in many ways, becoming less apparent as the world becomes more global. This globalization has challenged the existing social structures in many countries, including those countries with castes or caste-like socioeconomic divisions. Personal Model of Leadership
The modern business environment has significantly diversified, in order to adapt to the changes determined by globalization. Given the situation, the importance of the role of leaders has also increased. This determined theorists' and practitioners' interest in leadership studies that are able to provide some guidelines regarding the manner in which leaders should behave.
The challenge is represented by the fact that the leadership models presented by the literature in the field and by the business practice lead to the assumption that these leadership models are unable to respond to the changing business environment (Clawson, 2010). In other words, leaders must trust their instincts and knowledge when establishing the leadership model they should follow. Such leaders should also take into consideration successful leadership models, no matter the field the leaders in case addressed. This is because the values encouraged by a leader in politics can be…

Personal Professional Healthcare Communication Paper
What is Healthcare Communication?
Communication can be generally defined and the method of imparting information from a source to targets. The process of sharing thus has its own set of rules and for human communication the written and spoken words are used. There is also a series of communication called non-verbal which is also significant. There are behaviors that show what a person thinks or feels is also communication. (Berry, 2007)
These types of communication applies in the health care settings too. Health communication may be defined as the study of the means of communication and its strategies not only to communicate to individuals but to the community thus creating decisions on health questions. Thus for the health service the communication within itself and the society concerned with individual and public health, is a very important field that requires specialization and research in medical information…

Chomsky warns of ideological motivations of some scientific paradigms, just as with the aforementioned racial emphasis of early anthropology. Here, Russell espouses a Platonic episteme by enunciating the expectations of behavior between different classes. While Plato philosophized that persons are born with the characteristics fitting of their caste, Russell envisages a society in which "ordinary" men and women are expected to be collectivized and, therefore, devoid of individual expression.
Jean Jacques Rousseau paid his respects to the philosophy of Plato, although he thought it impractical, citing the decayed state of society. This sort of romanticism has been downplayed by the modern scientific establishment, who denounce the noble savage theory of human nature. Humans are not born purely good, modern science maintains. Instead, evolutionary traits are promoted at the biological level, thereby giving rise to how people are. It is not society that corrupts, but rather an interrelationship between…

Personal Definition of Nursing
Like most facilities, my institution stresses that it cares for its patients. Its belief in the value of caring and the place of caring at the center of nursing practice has caused it to make Jean Watson's Human Caring Theory the core of its philosophy. Watson's theory states that caring is an interpersonal science and a "caring environment is one that offers the development of potential while allowing the person to choose the best action for himself or herself at a given point in time" (Jean Watson's theory of nursing, 2012, Current Nursing). One critical assumption that I see implemented in my practice is the idea that "caring is more 'healthogenic' than is curing. A science of caring is complementary to the science of curing" (Jean Watson's theory of nursing, 2012, Current Nursing). Nursing may be a science, but nurses must always remember that…

The type of atrocity that a religious ideal could cause, I think, became cemented forever for me during the events of September 11, 2001.
Those men operated not only from a sense of devotion to their country, a hatred for the United States, but also from a religious fervor that encouraged them to take their own lives and the lives of thousands of others. This brought home to me that religion, in whatever form, could be not only a comfort, but also a greatly destructive force.
Even if I think of my own religion, Christianity, I am forced to admit the reality of the situation; it has not always been the gentle, caring lifestyle that's so often promoted today. In fact, even today, many Christians use their religious zeal to hurt and destroy. If I think of the past, the Crusades, the Inquisition, and the Salem Witch trials come immediately…
Better leadership skills from the general manager will also mean employees who not only perform better, but are also more capable and more productive at work.
There are several job factors that I usually take into consideration and this is also shown in my current job as general manager. First of all, in terms of the environmental context, I tend to appreciate those types of jobs with a high level of communication to those where the individual activity is more relevant than a collective approach. For me, communication means being able to work in a team, consulting with the other members and determining what the best solutions are, as well as how to implement these. As a general manager, I have the opportunity to be able to communicate quite a lot with other employees, both in terms of coordinating with them and in what passing on instructions is…

Personal Digital Assistants in Healthcare
Current Applications and Future Trends in the Use of Personal Digital Assistants in Healthcare
Today, healthcare practitioners enjoy a wide range of digital equipment that can help them provide more efficient healthcare services, including laptop computers, cellular telephones and personal digital assistants, or PDAs. These devices have been used in various ways by clinicians to improve their ability to deliver more timely and accurate diagnoses and treatments, and it is clear that the use of these devices will continue to increase in the future. The purpose of this study is to provide a current snapshot of how personal digital assistants are being used in various healthcare settings, including military and government tertiary facilities and the use of PDAs on the battlefield in times of war, but with a specific focus on how PDAs are being used in nongovernmental healthcare facilities today. To this end, a…

If a user does not regard these duties with the appropriate seriousness, the consequences could be dire indeed. Another very threatening form of computer crime is the phishing scam.
Phishing involves email from an apparently legitimate source such as a bank or other place of business that requires the user to respond with personal information. Most commonly, banks are used as a front for these scams. The most common messages of this type is that a user's account has been disabled and will only be reinstated once the apparent company has received the specific requested data. When a user sends this data, the criminal can then use it for his or her own purposes, such as identity theft or credit card fraud.

There is a question I always want to ask: Where should we start learning something? For some people, it is not easy to decide where something starts. It is like questioning, "Egg or chicken, which one comes first?"
It is believed that exploring the original meaning from a subject may take years for people to understand. It is a hard learning process that one should take where one wants to bring oneself to the higher level of knowledge exploration. One may start from any point, but it is the process and acknowledgement to the original material that will let one know how well he or she has learnt it.
Sometimes, the problem starts just when someone wants to know that the point he or she knows is where he or she should begin the process and starts exploring. I once thought that "the beginning" might already…
There is little doubt that less structured, alternative environments can be extremely useful for some learners. However, implementing those elements on a wider level would be very detrimental by virtue of the consequences in relation to more typical students who require a structured learning environment to overcome the many natural challenges to their academic success.
There is no doubt that (1) adolescence is a time of particularly sensitivity in the psychological, psychosocial, and emotional development of individuals, and that (2) self-image and self-esteem levels correspond to academic performance and subsequent success and happiness in life. Therefore, as educators, one of our most important tasks is to support the healthy psychological, psychosocial, and emotional development of all students through appropriate support and encouragement in every aspect of educational environments.

Personal communication skills, as exemplified by talk show host Larry King, are crucial to success in today's interconnected world. King, one of America's most successful communicators, provides a valuable example of successful communication skills that have brought him world renown as a broadcaster, successful book career, and influence in the political arena. It is through the example of individuals like King that we can learn not only the value of personal communication skills, but the specifics of some of the most important of these skills. King himself notes that personal communication skills are based on a number of factors such as honesty, interest, attitude, and openness. Successful adaptation of such skills can help the individual both on a personal and professional level.

Positions such as Administrative Assistant and Front Office Manager for Celebrity Cruises and Royal Caribbean International consequently strengthened my job qualifications and established me as an effective communicator.
My main goal as a Front Office Manager and Customer Representative was to establish credibility. Due to my people-orientation skills I was able to effectively measure - with maturity - those circumstances surrounding my communications, including situational and cultural context. Through hard effort, patience, and serious consideration of the multi-national environment in which I was required to operate and engage, I consequently adopted an individual style of communicating.
My daily tasks included messages conveyed through channels; verbal face-to-face meetings, telephone, written letters, e-mails, memos, and reports were but a few of the communication opportunities encountered.
Clearly recognizing the actions or reactions influenced by my message, I worked to ensure that my communication was always unambiguous and clear. Keeping in mind that people…
Some of the violations of civil and human rights that have resulted for the PA include "aggressive deportations, crackdowns at borders, surveillance of mosques and homes...destroyed livelihoods, splintered families and the loss of a sense of belonging and citizenship," the group asserts on their eb site. Moreover, many peace activists, demonstrators at anti-war rallies, animal-rights groups, student organizations, and critics of the U.S. policy towards Cuba, have been monitored and added to FBI and CIA databases as potential "enemies of America."
ID CHIPS: An article in ABA Journal (Tebo, 2006) points out that employees of some companies are being asked to have ID chips implanted in their arms so their employers "can monitor their movements," Tebo writes. And while the company that is using these ID chips, (www.Cityatcher.com) can rightly say absolute security is pivotal to their customers, many experts, the article continues, "worry that the law is not…

Personal Protective Equipments for Process Technicians
Personal Protective Equipment in chemical plants
Protection at work
A process technician document and perform daily manufacturing operations in bio-industrial, biopharmaceutical and biomedical settings. They are involved in the operation of process equipment especially within a sterile or clean-room environment. This environment is usually made up of large stainless steel vats with various pipes as well as control equipment linked together. Since various different complex steps exist in biomedical research and bio-manufacturing environments, a process technician need to be equipped with personal protective equipment that suit their work as well as much orientation on how or where these protective are used and their limitation.
It is important for employees to demonstrate that they have understood the training as well as the ability to use Personal Protective Equipment effectively prior to be allowed to start working so that they are prevented from various forms of…
Personal Model of Ethical Leadership
Leadership has been defined as the "procedure of social influence where a person is able to enlist the aid and support of others in the achievement of a common task" (Jam, 2012). Leadership is something that remains as one of the most appropriate features of the organizational context. A leader is an individual who influences a group of people in the direction of a specific result. It is not really dependent on title or official authority. Leaders are normally recognized by their volume for caring for others, clear communication, and a commitment to persevere. Some experts believe that good leaders are made not born and others say the opposite. Some leaders have the belief that when people have the willpower and desire, then they can become an effective leader. Some managers even mention that a good leader develops through a never ending procedure of self-study,…

The feeling that I was cut out for this role of a pharmacist came when I was fascinated in the chemistry classes about the medications, and the origin of bio-medicals. My fascination and the interaction with the patients where I work have made me known and liked in the current place of work. That would take this argument to the work experience and qualifications.
3. I am now a student for the masters in biomedical science at Midwestern University. Earlier qualifications include a bachelor's degree in computer engineering from Iraq in 2004. I also have completed the pre-pharmacy courses. Thus I have had a strong academic background. Further along with my academic background, I have had working experience as a pharmacy technician. I have found pleasure in working for the Walgreen's Pharmacy for three years as a pharmacy technician. Working with the employer namely Walgreen's allowed me to develop skills…
On the other hand, it is possible that such scenarios are extreme, and are based on the same time of 'slippery slope' logic that causes people to wonder if legalizing gay marriages will lead to people marrying animals. Extremism on either side of an issue is never a good thing, nor is the fabrication of doomsday scenarios that are based on nothing but speculation. Sarah Palin should know that better than anybody with her 'death panel' stories.
So while extreme caution regarding where all of these pro-gun, pro-self-defense laws may be overstated, at the same time, we cannot afford to simply look away and hope that the trend ends here. s the Coalition to Stop Gun Violence (2009) points out, these laws are not only dangerous but are in many ways, legally and ethically unjust:
Leaving aside the public safety issues associated with encouraging untrained civilians to confront criminals with…
Note: Red states have Castle Doctrines
As to my "negative characteristics": I do indeed get frustrated when my children forget their manners and behave poorly; I have a habit of losing track of time occasionally when I'm deeply involved in a project; as indicated earlier, I trust people too soon; I have a tendency to do things perfectly the first time, which can cause stress; and five, I become very intense when I see that something needs to be done around the house immediately.
In order to make positives out of my negatives, I believe in the Chinese ideogram that says obstacle and challenge are really the same thing - it's all in how you approach the problem. I work hard to keep my moods in a positive flow, and although we humans are sometimes the product of our emotions, professionals strive to control emotions and see life in its full perspective.
As to motivation, I…
My first interest is to work at a battering intervention and prevention program through a battered women's shelter. This position would allow me to educate the public, by discussing battering in various situations and helping reach target populations where battering is not discussed or is considered normative. However, I understand that working with batterers is not simply about education; the vast majority of them have been abused, themselves, and need assistance resolving issues from their own past in order to move on and create better futures. Furthermore, childhood abuse is positively correlated to later substance and mental health issues, and I would like the skills to recognize, assess, and treat those tangential issues. Another interest that I have is working with pregnant teenagers and young mothers in a family education system. I believe that it is unfortunate that our society fails to provide its members with adequate education concerning essential…
In the past, I have volunteered for Tree City USA in Orland Hills in a number of projects and events. I also have a soft spot for communal well-being and development and in that regard; I occasionally coach the little league basketball just as a way of making a small contribution towards the development of others.
I may not be the brightest student in my class at Western Illinois University, the college from which am transferring, but I have made deliberate moves in the recent past to double my efforts so as to enhance my grades. As you will find out, I have had three grades in the past which may be an issue of concern i.e. An F (got a C+ on re-taking the same) and two Ds. I am fully convinced that poor time management contributed largely towards the three dismal grades and my relatively low GPA. With…
Personal Model of Helping
Therapists do whatever they can to help their clients overcome a wide range of problems ranging fromdeath of a pet to major life changing crisis, such as sudden loss of vision. However genuine a therapists' desire to help is, they will be limited by the tools he or she uses. It makes sense, then, as a therapist to design and integrate webs of models that have shown to yield efficacy. This new, personally designed model should work to assist and meet the requirement of every client. To embark upon this task of designing a personal model of helping, it is important to be aware of existing theories and models.
The first is the humanistic approach based on Abraham Maslow's hierarchy of needs. Maslow's triangle consists of basics needs at the base followed by needs of safety, love and belonging, achievements and lastly self-actualization at the top.…

Personal Improvement Objectives
The world is indeed going through a transformation from a planet with many continents and many nations to a globally connected, much smaller planet where people and states are linked digitally. And so diseases and health problems in India relate in a real way to diseases and health issues in Alabama, and California, and New York and Michigan, in the U.S.
Because of the "smaller planet" reality, once I obtain my advanced degree and become pragmatically committed to a strong work ethic -- using the skills I have learned and fine-tuned -- I plan to offer leadership by supporting nursing practices and policies than can enhance the delivery of healthcare on global level 1. Next, through experience in my practice, and education, I will further develop knowledge, competencies, and the skills necessary to serve the population in which I am working.

Quizzes, tests, presentations, books reports, scantrons, number two pencils, stress, all-nighters, parents quizzing their children, tutors, among other things are all words that the general public associates with tests; but, to delve deeper into the dreaded word "assessment" there are pros and cons that help society realize the importance of assessments in school.
Assessments are imperative to curriculum teaching and are an essential component because students can gather strategies from the assessment taking and utilize those skills in the short- and long-term to achieve success. For instance, important strategies learned when taking an assessment include staying focused and relaxed, "expecting and accepting a little bit of stress," reading and following directions, pacing oneself, not rushing through the assessment, among other things (PS, 2005). These are important skills to foster through the schooling as these eventually are vital and highly applicable to the "real world" that students…

To encourage and perhaps even inspire my students, I shared with them the challenges I encountered in learning English and in understanding a culture which was both new and different from mine. I would always tell my students that in order to improve my SAT reading and writing score, I had to exert my best effort and work hard. I would also tell my students what I often told myself, that there is no shortcut for learning a new language; one just needs to practice, practice and work hard, just like everything else in life. Indeed, practice makes perfect.
Teaching Chinese to my students also offered me the chance to reflect on myself, on how I have begun from a person who doesn't speak English to a person who learned English as a second language and finally a person who teaches Americans about the Chinese language and culture. I realized…
Despite the fact I was preparing students for a standardized exam, I take pride in the fact that I tried to grasp what unique pedagogical strategies were required to enable them to master the material.
A seek further education in developmental psychology and general educational theory to build upon my natural strengths as an educator and communicator. My experiences have been diverse, spanning all grades as a substitute teacher in a variety of areas as well as my preparatory work with adult GED students. This exposure to students in a wide range of developmental stages has helped me see how the learning process develops over time, as basic skills make a foundation for students to learn new concepts. But sometimes, if these core concepts are lacking, a teacher can learn to help the student remedy past academic deficits. I have also worked as a tutor on a one-on-one basis with…
As rewarding as that experience was, not all of my work at the adoption agency was as satisfying. Most people understand that any adoption process -- especially when it occurs internationally -- is a long and complicated process that must deal with significant layers of bureaucracy. Success is, unfortunately, not necessarily guaranteed. But when adopting families are only a few weeks away from receiving their new children, we all begin to assume that adoptions will go through and we will have helped create many new families. Thus, it was especially devastating for all of us at the agency, not to mention the families involved, when two weeks before a new batch of Chinese children was meant to arrive, the Chinese government decided against letting the children leave the country. In hindsight, the reasons are unimportant; no rational explanation could have assuaged the grief of the families who had expectantly and…
Given my experiences at Chinatown Teen Post and Blue Phone Wireless, I am very excited about my future prospects in management. Academic skills are valuable for learning business operations, but real-world experience adds missing ingredients needed to fully understand success such as knowing how valuable personal happiness, social responsibility and customer satisfaction really are. I am eager to contribute my wisdom and leadership to the business community after receiving formal business training at the University of California.
I believe that the most important contribution I can bring to the University of California is my great respect for all individuals. Many people assume characteristics and create an image of a person they don't even know. As humans we tend to judge people very quickly based on their sex, race, ethnicity or social class. And, we love to judge people according to their image because it means so much in our society…
Personal Marketing Plan
Current Marketing Situation: I am graduating school and entering the workforce. My previous work experience is somewhat limited, mainly to retail work, but I have a solid education from a great school. I have a degree in marketing and this has prepared me for a career in marketing, advertising or possibly sales management. My present job is inadequate for my new education level. I like the people I work with, but the pay and the nature of the tasks are more suitable for someone with less experience and education. I believe that with a better education, I am prepared to take on positions of responsibility and to begin a progressive career path.
SWOT Analysis: I have a lot of different strengths upon which I draw to succeed. I am organized and intelligent, and this allows me to accomplish the things that I need to accomplish, on time…
Personal Financial Situation
The management of a Fortune 500 organization utilizes financial statements to craft corporate strategy on a quarter to quarter and year over year basis. These statements: balance sheet, income statement, and statement of cash flows contain crucial financial information which explicates how successful a company has been and its potential future prospects. These same three statements can be used by me as I face financial scenarios which require examination of assets, income, and its sources.
I will look to my financial statements as I seek to purchase a home, save for retirement, and contemplate starting a small business. A corporation's financial statements are contained in the annual report distributed to shareholders; my personal financial statement will contain the same data in a single page format. The balance sheet portion "summarizes a company's assets, liabilities and shareholders' equity at a specific point in time (Investopedia. N.D.);…

Since 1874, Purdue University has garnered a reputation of high academic integrity and achievement. Pursuing an education at Purdue University has always been a dream. Since completing my high school education in 2011, I felt that my purpose was to make a difference in the lives of others. With such a challenging childhood, my desire to persevere is fueled by circumstances. Such life events have yielded a strong desire to learn more and to give more. Furthering my education builds upon knowledge and experience by teaching important leadership skills necessary for today's complex workplace. Insomuch, a quality education will help achieve personal and professional goals that may add value by enriching the lives of others.

The Japanese man may fail to make eye contact, mumble his responses, and stand far away from his negotiating opposite, while, in frustration with this apparent diffidence, the Lebanese man may raise his voice, lean across the table, nod vigorously, do anything to raise the energy level of the room, potentially intimidate his opponent, but simply look weak because of his force and high level of animation. The plethora of courses in cross cultural communications show there is a need for future original study and analysis in this area, but it is an area that has not been addressed, except in passing, or in brackets, as of yet.

Moreover, it stresses for the need for effective, clear communication for lawyers, as is underlined by its requirement for all first year students to take a legal communication course. This acknowledges another reality of the legal field -- as legal language becomes increasingly arcane and obfuscating, lawyers must strive to express themselves with greater rather than less clarity.
While many law schools offer moot court competitions, few other schools stress teamwork and negotiating skills to the same degree as Northwestern -- and often the conference room and the bargaining table are the true proving grounds of an attorney today. The lawyer as problem solver, to use the title of the seminar offered to incoming students, rather than the lawyer a stirrer up of already muddy legal waters is the core of the Northwestern approach. I seek to embrace this as a student and later as a lawyer.
Personal Social Media Audit

Time of the day using a specific website
The usage of social media depends on the personal interests and priorities. There are various websites, blogs, content communities, and gaming zones categorized as internet-based social media. The users of social media often do not realize their patterns and number of hours spent in using social media. In order to understand the usage information a seven days diary was maintained. The analysis of diary entries provided an in-depth understanding of the situation. The reflection of observations, assessment of the findings and active experimentation is presented below.
Social media comprises of electronic tools, applications, websites, and various community-based blogs that attract the users. The users also utilize their email and contact numbers to share their profile information with contacts. It is also a medium that has…

Every school supervisor knows that improving teaching and learning is always the goal of every school, and finding the right applications for progress toward better outcomes should be a collaborative and constant strategy unique to each school environment.
In conclusion, collaboration is not a concept unique to the educational setting; indeed, any organization should embrace the idea of collaboration rather than strict hierarchal strategies. But when it comes to educational settings, an administrator working in collaboration with teachers to develop curricula, to solve problems, to create stronger formulas for learning, is a far better tactic than top-down leadership where demands and orders are the rule of the day.

This was the fifth time I was examining myself in the mirror today. I guess people were right when they teased me and continuously passed comments. A closer look helped me notice my protruding stomach, the double chin and the heavy thighs. I was lonely in fact the reason of this feeling was my body. Devastated, I stood besides the window for some cool breeze to freshen me up but alas! All I saw were restaurants and luxuries. Munching cookies, chips, sodas, burgers and sitting all day were amongst my top priorities. I switched on the television and the show was all about obesity and the damage it does to the health. For a moment it looked like an old story which people hear from the day they are born. It never mattered to me until a day when everything affected me. This was probably because…
Even the perfect adolescence would be difficult -- it's hard to imagine young life today, in even the kindest of families, without struggles about identity, without fights about determining what one's future vocation might be, and simply arguing with one's parents. These are all typical pursuits of the typical adolescent, to say nothing of self-imposed and socially imposed academic pressures, and the pressures of preparing one's resume for college.
And my adolescence was far from perfect or typical.
Still, success in school has always been of great importance to me. I have always desired to become an art major, and eventually pursue a career in architecture. I have always wished to become a successful professional, and to learn more about the study of beauty and self-expression through the medium of art. I have always been aware that the only way for me to enlarge my personal interests in…
Children should have the values of what they learn in the school curriculum reinforced on the field. The spatial relations and kinesthetic knowledge required to throw a ball touches upon what students learn in science; the ethics of sports figures and steroid use are addressed in social studies; the philosophical and spiritual importance of sports is discussed in great literature. Students can even have math skills reinforced by keeping track of team statistics. Learning about technology, such as how to use the web to engage in research, can easily be reinforced as children look up new sports drills, or even simply follow the careers of inspirational athletes who have values of which a coach, parent, and child can be proud.
Above all, I believe in student-centered learning. The experiences that the child remembers are those that he or she learns hands-on. The playing field and practice field are great teachers:…
My work as a research assistant in a cognitive psychology lab added to my theoretical knowledge by giving me practical experience in encoding and analyzing data. This experience provided me with the opportunity to use analytical tests and interpret statistical data. Bookkeeping of participants' demographic information also further developed my organizational skills. Having been a research assistant, I have gained a reasonable understanding of research design and the statistics needed to conduct research. For my senior major project, I wrote a research paper on an empirical study that investigated the role of change detection in studies of visual attention in the field of cognitive psychology. This paper was awarded the Sharon Borine award for the best major project in Psychology because of its successful presentation of research and adherence to American Psychology Association guidelines. I strongly believe my research experience will help me attain success in conducting graduate research as…
Like many teenagers would, my beliefs swung radically in the other direction. While I had no intention of parting with my gemstones, because the harm done in the mining of them could not be undone, I decided to stop collecting them. I began to speak out about alternatives, and even chastised a cousin who chose diamond instead of a synthetic jewel for his fiance's engagement ring. I gave a presentation to my high school about the detriments of the jewelry industry and considered lobbying to enact stricter laws about gems and rare metal imports, so that any products would be certified fair labor and fair trade complaint.
However, that attitude could not last long. The more research I did, the more ambiguous the situation became. Yes, the circumstances in mines are horrible, and I would never want anyone in my family exposed to them. However, my family does not live…
My parents determined that I should go to the United States, because they felt that the U.S. provided a more sophisticated and forward-looking business administrative education. My father was quite successful in China as a businessman, but he believed that the world was changing, and that it was essential that his child have some grounding in the new economic reality of the global marketplace to become equally successful. He also felt that China's view of the international marketplace was not as sophisticated as America's, and that an aspiring entrepreneur could gain much from learning about the American perspective and system of management.
During my father's lifetime, he saw capitalism take root in his home country, altering China for the better. China, through fits and starts, became freer, more open to new ideas and ways of life, more prosperous, and more tolerant of different ways of looking at the world. Through…
Combined with my aptitude in biology, chemistry, and calculus, I resolved to return to school and get my nursing degree.
I am about to embark upon a new chapter and a new experiment in my life, far more daring than any of the risks I took in my business career. However, I think there will be a great deal of cross-over of skills between my past and current profession. The long hours, attention to others at the occasional expense of my own needs, and the relentless drive for quality improvement and improving my own abilities were relevant in business and will remain important in the field of nursing. Moreover, the business knowledge that was so helpful to me in my former career can also be translated into a nursing career. Nurses are more encouraged than ever to look over their work with a critical eye to cost-cutting, efficiency and waste…
