Through examination of the etiology and phenomenology of suicide from the parent's perspective, the author of this research explains how to recognize its many faces, enhancing social workers' ability, when dealing with this population (of both parents and wider family of the suicide individual) to uncover dangers that others, exposed to conventional descriptions, may miss (Shea, 1999).
