This paper is about mission and vision statements. It begins with an analysis of the mission and vision statements of the County Department of Social Services, evaluated against the literature on these statements. From there, recommendations are given about how to improve the mission and vision statements to improve them.

Community policing describes the cooperative involvement of the police and the community in order to work together to decrease crime. This paper discusses how the police psychologist can assist both the community and the police department in obtaining their goals. The major goals of community policy should be engaging in community partnerships, organizational transformation, and problem-solving by both the community and the Police Department.
