What is School?

School as an academic topic sits at the intersection of education, psychology, sociology, and literature, making it relevant across a wide range of courses and disciplines. Students write about it in education programs, psychology classes, business schools, and humanities seminars alike. The topic is academically rich because it touches on institutional structure, human development, and social policy simultaneously. Papers engage with formal schooling at every level, from early childhood development through graduate programs such as the MBA, and they also treat school as a cultural and literary symbol found in works like Tobias Wolff's Old School, Molière's The School for Wives, and Raphael's The School of Athens.

The papers archived here take notably diverse approaches. Some are analytical and institutional, evaluating curricula using frameworks such as the Saylor, Alexander, and Lewis model, or conducting SWOT analyses of private university MBA programs. Others are empirical and psychological, examining how school-based mental health programs affect emotional intelligence or how test anxiety interacts with question sequence. Still others are personal and reflective, including self-change projects and career-focused writing. Literary and art-historical approaches also appear, treating school as a theme or setting worthy of close reading and cultural interpretation.

A strong essay on school succeeds by committing to a specific, manageable angle rather than treating education in the abstract. Whether the focus falls on teacher-student relationships, curriculum design, student mental health, or a literary portrayal of school life, the thesis should make a clear, arguable claim. Evidence drawn from program data, developmental research, or textual analysis carries more weight than broad generalizations. The most common pitfall is conflating the many meanings of "school" without defining which context — institutional, psychological, or cultural — the essay actually addresses.

Galeano's Lizard Story: Themes, Allegory, and Politics
Literary Research Paper: "The Story of the Lizard Who Had the Habit of Dining on His Wives" By Eduardo Galeano "The Story of the Lizard Who Had the Habit of Dining on His Wives" seems to be a short, simple, strange story at first. But if a person looks into Eduardo Galeano's biography, the story makes much more sense and seems to say a lot more than just lizard-eats-women/woman-eats-lizard. The story actually says a lot about "be careful what you wish for," "what goes around comes around," the relationships between men and women, and political symbolism about South America. Maybe even most important is the theme of "rich against poor" because of Galeano's background and Marxist political beliefs. Eduardo Galeano is an important political leftist from South America. Raised a Catholic but soon to become a Marxist, he worked in many jobs but eventually became a writer. As a writer, he has fought for the poor, for the people of his own country of Uruguay and for Freedom of Speech. Although he has suffered because of his strong political beliefs, he is also praised and rewarded for being a fearless fighter. His short story of "The Story of the Lizard Who Had the Habit of Dining on His Wives" is not his most famous work and it is only a 4-page story; however, it has many themes. The story has the themes of "be careful what you wish for," "what goes around comes around," the relationships between men and women, and political symbolism about South America. Though nobody mentioned this, his short story also seems to have the theme of "rich against poor," which makes sense because of Galeano's history and political beliefs. Even his short story shows why Galeano is thought to be a major voice for the poor, his countrymen and Freedom of Speech.

Teen Skincare Routine: Observation, Interview & Design Prototype
My cousin has a regular habit of applying a multitude of facials to her face both in the morning when she awakes, and at night before she goes to bed. She is sixteen, and a high-school student at a local public-school. Her routine includes the following: masks, tonics, make up remover, eye cream, facial creams, and cleansers. She is messy with her ointments, spreads them all over, and often spends much time looking for one or the other. When she is tired, she sometimes omits some of the steps or forgets about the whole process altogether so I offered to create her a prototype that can help her remember and create a place which is organized.
