Religious diversity in Indonesia: development, variation, and general patterns
Abstract
In the early 1990 epoch, religion in Indonesia was an intricate issue, not easily analyzed based on ethnicity, region or social stratification. In that epoch, Christianity, Buddhism, Hinduism, Islam and other denominations implicated on life from various dimensions. The Indonesian government discouraged religious divisions from politicking. The government warranted tolerance for all religions regarded as monotheistic inclusive of Hinduism Buddhism and Islam provided their creeds did not delve into politics. In the present times, Indonesia has the most diversified religion institution. Islam is the outstanding religion while other religions have freedom of worship. This explication gives an account of the religions present in Indonesia.
