A growing body of research has found that some regions such as mountains and water have a higher concentration of negative air ions, which influence serontonin and cyclic adenosine monosphate levels and apparently affect mood and alertness. Similarly too, although a high-carbohydrate, low-protein meal decreases alertness by raising brain trytophan, a protein-rich meal, reverses the effect. Eating pure tyrosine - such as yogurt and turkey (!) – will raise brain tyropsine levels and increase cognitive alertness (Orenstein & Swencionis, 1990). Regarding environmental stressors, laboratory experiments have consistently shown that when participants reason about emotional contents, they are less likely to provide normatively correct answers in deductive-reasoning tasks (Blanchette, Melnyk, Richards, & Lavda, 2007). The aim of the present study will be to examine the effect of four such variables on affect (i.e. happiness), to evaluate whether or not any of them will positively impact happiness, defined as elevation in mood, and if so to which extent and in which way. The variables I selected were: rope jumping (exercise), yogurt (pure tyrosine food), prior study in a place with mountains and water (containing negative ions), and manipulation of a then-felt emotional stressor.

The review covers 4 empirical studies of long-term heavy use, short-term light use, the physiology of neurological damage associated with MDMA, and the prenatal exposure of developing festuses to MDMA used by mothers.

Abstract A majority of organizations today operate in a highly uncertain and unstable marketplace. For businesses operating in such a marketplace, the relevance of change cannot be overstated. However, most organizations face a wide range of challenges while implementing the change process including but not limited to resistance to change. Regardless of this, resistance to change can still be viewed positively.

Half of those in this very class are women and are directly at risk for breast cancer. Of the half that are men, ironically enough, each of them has a one in one thousand chance of developing breast cancer themselves.

This paper explores the many disparities in the US healthcare system and their causes. The paper also talks about the ethnic and socioeconomic groups which suffer most from such inequalities and how these can be resolved through social and political means. Abstract For any leader, be it in business or politics, his or her key mandate remains meeting the wide range of demands put across by various groups of stakeholders. Most particularly, organizational leaders today must ensure that they restructure and reengineer the entities they are in charge of in a way that makes them more responsive to the needs of not only clients but the marketplace as well. In this text, I take into consideration the media giant, News Corp, which has in the recent past met the wrath of shareholders over a mobile device hacking saga that also saw the company come under intense public scrutiny. Given recent happenings at the media company, it is clear that the shareholders of News Corp feel that the company has not been vigilant enough to protect their interests.

This paper analyzes Wal-Mart's entry into Mexico. The impacts of NAFTA are given special consideration. The case also analyzes the response of Comerci, a large Mexican retailer. Recommendations to Comerci are given.
