Although TB is one of the major causes of morbidity and mortality in the world, there has been less attention to the children and adolescents who come from communities that have high prevalence rates. There is a need to carry out studies in order to create the association between the HIV prevalence among adults and the rates of transmission to children and adolescents. The study will enable organizations and countries to develop intervention strategies that will help to curb the problem.

Public health professionals have chosen to protect the health of communities in which they reside and work, by monitoring past, present, and future health threats around the world. Measles outbreaks are reemerging in countries with a robust vaccination program and the past SARS outbreak woke the world to the threat that a highly contagious and dangerous infectious agent represents in an international community. This report reviews several threats that public health professionals are faced with today.

Every community has historically nurtured some form of practice determining the way service delivery is executed or undertaken. Some of the practices can be a common good to the public or mendacious depending on the individuals affected. This study has focused on "Wasta" as practiced in the Qatari community. It is evident that this practice appears to be a form of corruption because it promotes favoritism and way service delivery is executed the selected few members of the society. Whereas a few may benefit, majority of the community members suffer. Wasta has negatively affected governance structures in Qatar and there is need for its eradication.

Community Health Nursing: Environmental and Global Health Issues and How Communities Are Affected by Environmental and Global Health Issues

This paper is a literature review of recently-published articles on pandemic flu. It examines the phenomenon of pandemic flu from a nursing and public health perspective. Ways to educate the public about preventative measures are addressed, as are ways to enable the healthcare infrastructure to cope with the stressors generated by a pandemic.

This work examines how medical care was influenced and changed during the Civil War as well as during the Crimean and Italian Unification Wars immediately preceding the Civil War. that immediately preceded the US Civil War. Toward this end this work examines the literature in this area of inquiry and reports findings.

This study examines risk management across all sectors with a focus on the justice and security sector. Risk management strategies are reviewed as well as risk reduction and elimination and associated contingency planning. The use of a risk charter is reviewed as well as is risk communication. Various risk management options and alternatives are also examined in this study.
