Creating, Implementing and Using Business Intelligence in Clinic and Resort Cases
In the process of effective decision making for improving opportunities and performance of a business, a vital role is played by Business Intelligence (BI). Business Intelligence Systems understand the environments of organizations and follow a systematic information process. These systems have huge development costs but are widely created, implemented and used in mid-sized organizations, hospitals, resorts and hotels. The purpose of writing this essay is to analyze the lessons that I can learn from the implementation of business intelligence systems in clinics and resorts. Also I will analyze the role of social and technical systems in an organization.

Business Organizations meet ever increasing demands and competition of the business; they have to make decisions using appropriate knowledge as it plays an effective role in decision making. The business information is implied in past decisions, data, external and internal environments, climatic conditions, technical advancements and government policies. In such scenarios knowledge management systems and knowledge repositories have been evolved. These systems, such as Business Intelligence (BI), generate appropriate knowledge. This essay is based on the extraction of lessons that should be learned from the creativity, implementation and use of business intelligence systems in clinics and resorts.
I would support the fact that organizations started effective decision making once they implemented Business Intelligence within their system. Business Intelligence provides analysis and consolidation of data; also the capacity of data that has to be processed into executable information of decision making. There are various information systems and Business Intelligence (BI) is one of them. Inumerable Clinics, hospitals, hotels and resorts are making money through the implementation of the Business Intelligence. Going through the implementation and use of BI in health care institutes and resorts can make us learn several lessons. How, where, when and why Business Intelligence systems were implemented in clinics and resorts? An answer to this question will make me write this essay successfully.
Before moving further it is important to know the basics of business intelligence tools and how they are implemented within any organization. Business Intelligence (BI) is described as a wide category of technologies and applications for collecting, storing, and analyzing data for helping enterprise users to make good business decisions.
Through implementation of BI, the organizations can easily access, analyze, understand and act on business information, anywhere and anytime. "BI systems provide sophisticated functions for effectively analyzing business information to support and improve management decision making. BI systems build upon integration of Databases, Data warehousing technologies, Data Mining technologies, Web Services and Advanced Visualized Interfaces" (Venkatadari, Sastry, & Manjunath, 2010). Organizations focus on acquiring customers, out-spacing the competition and increasing profitability and revenues. In order to improve their operating efficiencies and to turn data into meaningful and useful information, they need Business Intelligence. Medium sized organizations are now able to implement business decisions quickly through BI. "BI spectrum is very broad in terms of its tools and functionality. At its core are the traditional capabilities of query, reporting, and analysis. This is complemented by data quality and data integration to accurately and consistently consolidate data from multiple sources" (Schiff, 2007)
An organization employs various individuals; they work under the organization's environment using the available technical systems. Every organization is based on social, technical and socio-technical systems. A social system present within an organization is based on the people-organization relationships. The organizational behavior interprets these relationships in order to achieve social, organizational and human objectives; hence building good relationships. Structure of technicalities present within an organization is the technical system. The most important is socio-technical system, which is an approach, used to recognize interaction between people and technology present within the system.
BI systems have enabled various health care centers, clubs and resorts to keep a track of their data, to execute effective decision making and to generate revenue quickly.
