Change Effort One Of The Chapter

Was the change managed skillfully? Why or why not? The lasting effects are that the changes were reluctantly implemented. This is from health care professionals believing that the administration was forcing some kind of shift on everyone for no reason at all and not explaining the rationale behind what was happening. Moreover, this added to the pressures on the leadership by making them take on greater responsibilities and it increased their caseloads / levels of stress. (Battilana, 2010) (Grant, 2010)

This resulted in the transformation being successful to a certain extent. However, the management of them was lacking and it created an atmosphere of divisiveness among staff members. What helped to make the strategy successful; is the nurses and other leaders inside the hospital served as liaisons for different groups. This allowed each side to voice their concerns and issues. As a result, the transformations were skillfully managed by the leadership inside various health care teams. While, the upper management and staff members had trouble adjusting from the lack of communication. The one group that helped to deal with these issues was the leadership and the role they played in the process. (Battilana, 2010) (Grant, 2010)
How might the process have been improved?

The way this could have been improved is to have more open levels of communication between managers and staff members. This will allow everyone to voice their concerns and discuss what was happening. At the same time, any kind of issues of resistance and misunderstandings will decrease. (Battilana, 2010) (Grant, 2010)
