A favorite target for conspiracists today as well as in the past, a group of European intellectuals created the Order of the Illuminati in May 1776, in Bavaria, Germany, under the leadership of Adam Weishaupt (Atkins, 2002). In this regard, Stewart (2002) reports that, "The 'great' conspiracy organized in the last half of the eighteenth century through the efforts of a number of secret societies that were striving for a 'new order' of civilization to be governed by a small group of 'all-powerful rulers.' The most important of these societies, and the one to which all subsequent conspiracies could be traced, is the Illuminati founded in Bavaria on May 1, 1776 by Adam Weishaupt" (p. 424). According to Atkins, it was Weishaupt's fundamental and overriding goal to form a secret organization of elite members of Europe's leading citizens who could then strive to achieve the Enlightenment version of revolutionary…...

bibliography, and research, knowledge of variables becomes increasingly critical. Therefore, I appreciated the challenge of distinguishing and generating variables in the modules. I learned about the influence of variables upon research questions and hypotheses, too. Variables are terms and things that are thrown around the academic realm, but not many researchers have a deep and practical understanding of variables and their function(s) in research at all stages. The work spent with variables, research questions, and hypotheses, though arduous, gave me confidence to complete doctoral research projects.

The most enjoyable module for me was the one where students engaged with heuristics. I am a creative person and believe that there is room for creativity in all academic disciplines. Therefore, heuristics, for me, was very enjoyable. I found that heuristics exercised my creativity muscles satisfactorily and it also gave me awareness in research. Heuristics will help me keep my research from stagnating and will help me stay innovative and open-minded in approaching my research. Heuristics helps keep research stay fresh and helps researchers locate and fill gaps in existing research.

Overall, I found the course to be practical and I am a person with an appreciation for utility. The course really made me work and I realize the benefits more so as the course concludes and I am sure I will see further benefits as my education and career progress.

The differences and similarities that exist between offset and digital print in the quality assurance process though the two methods share common demerits. Offset printing, which is applicable to a wide range of materials, produces more frequent quality issues than digital print, which has been referred to by White (1975) as sharper and suffering from less technical constraints such as resolution. However, for digital print, resolution also serves as an issue because where a lower-resolution design is used, the print quality suffers as well. oreover, digital printers suffer from lack of digital printing standards which means providers who use digital print have few tools and standards than they…...

Pubic Administration?
What is Public Administration?

Marc Holzer -- in the good company of thousands of colleagues in public administration and business -- embraced the box. The box serves to as a frame to our thinking, acts as scaffolding to our decision-making, and serves our innate tendency as human beings to create meaningful patterns from our experience. And how better to improve on the box, than to further divide it into four boxes -- each of which represents the tensions we experience regarding whatever we have put into the box. The box is familiar as it serves many disciplines. Economists may love the box more than any other group, save management consultants. That said, quadrants are a useful heuristic, and I utilize that attribute here in my version as applied to public administration and the management of non-profits.

Long-Term Productivity in Business Workers and Machinery
Pages: 18 Words: 4500

Long-Term Productivity in Business orkers and Machinery
Productivity is important to every kind of business. This does not mean that every possible bit of work has to be squeezed out of every single worker until they drop into an exhausted heap on the assembly line. Indeed, this would certainly not be productive because having to replace on a continual basis workers who quit from being exhausted - not to mention having to settle disability suits - is hardly the goal of any business.

Productivity means getting the most out of one's machines and workers on a long-term basis. Sometimes this means that everyone has to put in overtime. Sometimes this means that people need to spend an afternoon staring out the window and thinking up new ideas. It all depends upon the business involved and the stage of a project that business and that worker is at.

Something that every business can benefit…...

Rise of Business and the New Age
Pages: 4 Words: 1562

rise of business and the new age of industrial capitalism forced Americans to think about, criticize, and justify the new order -- especially the vast disparities of wealth and power it created. This assignment asks you to consider the nature and meaning of wealth, poverty and inequality in the Gilded Age making use of the perspectives of four people who occupied very different places in the social and intellectual spectrum of late nineteenth-?century America:, the sociologist William Graham Sumner, the writer enry
George, a Massachusetts textile worker named Thomas O'Donnell, and the steel tycoon

Andrew Carnegie.

For Andrew Carnegie, wealth was a good thing. That's the attitude of a young person toward their parents and all of their wisdom.
