Part 1: Summary Paragraph

The author of the selected article has presented scrutiny of professional development of the educators on students learning outcomes using two renowned human development theories (Eun, 2019). Social cognitive and socio-cultural theories have been selected to form a relationship between professional development and improved classroom instructional gains. The mechanism of human development theories was linked to classroom advances so that valuable planning steps were involved in the process, and the factors could be evaluated closely. The author found that education has been evolving on various spectra in the contemporary world where these theories do not provide enough argument for professional development. Weak students, quick-learners, and students who speak diverse languages have to be supported in various ways for better student outcomes. 

Part 2: Analysis of Author’s Key Points

The author believes that the two selected theories, despite their certified significance for illuminating and predicting human development and accompanying change, would not be able to explain the interaction of the human environment, the development, professional learning, and student outcomes on its own or independently. Other factors, such as time constraints and financial sustenance for the availability of required resources in the classroom, play their role in improving student outcomes. 

Besides, the author discusses that educational technology has shaped the way teachers engage the students in class that directly impacts their academic accomplishments. Research has verified that students are more familiar with the technology conducive to their positive educational outcomes; however, it requires classroom management and teachers’ training for the use of technology (Carstens et al., 2021). Still, the author verifies that social learning contexts keep changing and individual learning also varies accordingly. 

The author has enlightened the readers that the selected theories and professional development are extensive topics that should be discussed at length. It is impossible to create a relationship in a mere article. Hence, engagement of the teacher from the initiating stages of planning throughout the student learning effectiveness cycle should be socially developed so that professional growth and development naturally take shape. 

Part 3: Personal Application to Personal and Professional Development

Personal and professional development has to occur each day of one’s career since every day brings new opportunities, and the learning graph improves. I realized the importance of the technicalities of both theories after reading the selected article in which the classroom and the changing educational requirements pose challenges every day. They would help in my progress each day so that I can apply the theories into my professional practice and create a meaningful social interaction for my students that they can open their horizons of the brains. I would focus on communication and mediation for being a source of constant support for the students. Innovative classroom instruction is a valuable means for creating learning effectiveness for the students that have contributed to my understanding that teachers also need continuous follow-up support. This would help bring instructional efficacy and convenient translation of knowledge into practice. I would apply my daily professional development experiences to the planning stages of student learning cycles daily, either in classroom instructions or assessments, to consider their individual needs before meeting my personal or professional expectations. Also, ongoing research for knowing what is new in the teaching field, especially amalgamation of educational technology, would be a helpful attribute that I would want to teach in my practice for personal and professional growth alongside student learning. Effective implementation is the key to naturally enhanced professional development success once student learning goals are fulfilled.
