The cost of purchasing additional product should also be considered, as there is a potentially higher profit margin and absolute profit if this purchase is made. No matter what plan the company decides to pursue, there are always risks that the demand will not meet the forecast, therefore the company should not commit its entire product to any plan ahead of time, but should produce at the last possible minute to ensure that it can respond to changes as they occur.
