Qualities that Jim should Possesses to be a Successful Project Manager

Essential skills are very critical to be successful in project management functions. To be a successful project manager, Jim must possess the following qualities:

First, Jim must possess interpersonal, technical and managerial skills, which would assist him to determine the size, scope as well as the project's resources requirements. Moreover, Jim must be able to design a project to meet customer's needs. Once an organization accepts a project, Jim must be able to deliver a project within budget and on time.

Jim must also possess leadership skills to initiate planning a well as executing and closing down a project. Understanding the project management process is very critical for the success of a project. Thus, Jim must possess management skills to manage activities, resources and other tasks in a project.

Communication skills are the additional qualities Jim must possess, Jim must be able to liaison between management, developers and users in order to assign activities and monitor progress. The goal is to influence activities towards achieving a common goal with the use of intelligence, ability and personality.

More importantly, Jim must possess a customer relations skills to closely align with customer to ensure that a project meet customer's expectation. Conflict management skill is another dynamic quality that Slim must possess. Typically, Slim must possess problem-solving skills to smooth out personality differences. Jim should respond to Ella's pressure about the importance of project by explaining that a project assists the organization to develop an application suited to the organizational need. For example, the importance of SDLC project is to solve business problems by taking the advantages of a new project to deliver innovative services. The importance of the project to Petrie's Electronics is that the project will assist the organization to develop a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system that would assist in improving customer retention as well as increasing the customer's loyalty.

More importantly, the project such as CRM assists an organization to automate, synchronize sales as well as managing customer service relationships. Typically, CRM is the most efficient and strongest approach to maintain and create relationship with customers, making a business to achieve a high level of success. With CRM project that Petrie's Electronics intends to develop, the company will be able to develop a strong personal building relationship with customers.

A major importance of the project is that organizations will be able to reduce costs using the CRM and the CRM is cheap and smooth compared to the traditional method of doing business.
