¶ … Postcard SWOT Analysis Modern Postcard has a number of different strengths from which to draw. First, it has technological capabilities, and can design exceptionally good cards. These can be tailored to the needs of each customer as well, another asset. The second strength of Modern Postcard is that the company has a positive brand name. Impressions of the brand are favorable, as evidenced by the online reviews that the company has. Somebody unfamiliar with Modern Postcard will quickly learn that people have positive experiences in dealing with them (Google,2015). A third strength is the quality of customer service. The company has been able to build its reputation by training its staff well, enforcing service standards and generally taking an interest in meeting the needs of the customer.

One of the weaknesses that Modern Postcard has, however, is that it is not a large or well-known company. It might be reasonably big in its field, but it is not a large field, and many consumers are entirely unaware that this service exists. Another weakness for Modern Postcard is that its product/service is dependent on the applicant being able to get useful contact information. In many cases, students who send in resumes send them in to generic emails, where this service requires that the student already has some sort of legitimate email contact with the company. It is not known what the company can to do overcome this, but it would create a much bigger opportunity without this product weakness. A third weakness for Modern Postcard is the need for a digital marketing model. The company does not have a large marketing budget for this product, but digial marketing either costs money in a pay-for-click scenario or it requires cultivating word-of-mouth, a process that can be very hit and miss.
That said, there is a lot of opportunity here. First, the potential for this particular product is large. There are hundreds of thousands of graduates each year, and millions of job applications. Capturing even a small percentage of these represents a significant opportunity for Modern Postcard. Another opportunity lies with international.
