Communications Case Study

Communications Initiative for Mr. Carey

Strategy and Preparation

Because Mr. Carey has expressed specific concern in my ability to coordinate and stay on top of all the elements of the project, my overall strategy is to communicate my complete awareness of the status of each and every program element. In that regard, I want to make sure that he understands that anything that is currently either delayed or on indefinite status is not delayed or unresolved because of any failure or fault of mine. I want to make explicitly clear that I am fully aware of each possible issue and that everything is in schedule to be completed as soon as the necessary elements that are not under our direct control are resolved.

Preparation for Oral Presentation

To prepare for delivering this message orally, I might consider rehearsing it as though it were a speaking role. I might recruit a friend to listen to me or use a tape recorder. Either way, I would hope to work in all the buzzwords and phrases and try to make my end of the conversation sound as spontaneously articulate as possible even though it's gong to be very rehearsed.
