Demographics The main purpose of this assignment is to conduct a statistical analysis of community health project by making a comparison of the City of Phoenix to Houston City. In terms of demographics, Phoenix has a population of 1.615 million people whereas Houston has a population of 2.303 million people. Houston is one of the largest cities in Texas. The population of the city of Phoenix constitutes of 46.5% whites, 6.8% blacks, 39.9% Hispanic, and 3.2% Asian, 1.8% mixed and the remaining 1.9% comprising of others. On the other hand, for the population in Houston, 49.3% are White (including Hispanic or Latino), 25.3% are Black and 0.4% are Native American, 5.3% are Asian, and 16.5% are from other races. In terms of household income, the average income in the city of Houston is $47,793 declining from the preceding value of $48,064. On the other hand, the average income in Phoenix recently experienced a 7.5 percent growth to $54,062. In the 2016 fiscal year, the average age of the population in Phoenix was 33.4 years. The native citizens in the city had an average age of 29.5 years, and were younger compared to foreign citizens who had an average age of 41.8 years. In contrast, the average age of the population in Houston was 33 years. The native citizens in the city had an average age of 28.4 years, and were younger compared to foreign citizens who had an average age of 40.2 years. Notably, based on statistics of the previous years, the population of Phoenix is becoming younger whereas that of Houston is becoming older (Data USA, 2018).

The average property value in Houston presently stands at $163,700, which is 0.8 times lower compared to the national average of $205,000. On the other hand, based on the Windshield Survey, statistics indicate that the mean value of housing in Phoenix is higher retailing at $200,000 to $250,000 (Data USA, 2018).
From an economic and demographic standpoint, the city of Houston has employed 1.12 million people. The city is largely associated to mining, construction, oil and gas extraction industries. In contrast, the city of Phoenix has employed 770,242 people up to date. The major industries in the city comprise of waste management services, finance and insurance and the management of companies and enterprises. Education is another key area of comparison between the two cities. In the 2015fiscal year, the universities in Houston awarded 37,736 degrees to students. In general, the student population of the city is largely inclined towards having more female students who are over 22,000 whereas the make students are over 15,000 (Data USA, 2018). In the same year, universities situated in Phoenix awarded over 37,000 degrees to students. Similar to Houston city, the student composition in the universities in inclined towards female students. The female student population in the city is over 25,000 whereas the male student population is just over 11,000 (Data USA, 2018).
