Response (Evi)

Eric

Eric opted to describe the design approach to telehealth. Success in telehealth largely depends on not only the distinct value of proposition of parties involved, but also on the context in which it is being provided and the political judgment (Wootton and Hebert, 2001). The said factors come in handy in ensuring that costs in telehealth are calculated from a certain financial perspective. To achieve the said success, Eric indicates that conceptualization of leadership in a precise manner would be needed to ensure that healthcare leaders are supported to adapt newer technological innovations in telehealth. This would help the said leaders overcome challenges of accessing telehealth services especially in relation to patients in rural communities and older adults. Apart from using leadership styles to enhance telehealth, Lupez et al. (2021) suggest that telehealth can be facilitated through reimbursement and insurance coverage. According to the authors, the said facilitators would ensure that telehealth services are widely disseminated.

Dishina

Dishina describes the design approach to understaffing - which happens to be a global problem. According to Haddad et al. (2022), understaffing happens to be a major problem that leads to adverse patient outcomes, i.e. owing to errors in the course of delivering essential healthcare services. Therefore, appropriate staffing would come in handy in ensuring that nurses are retained, patient outcomes are improved, and errors reduced. For this reason, Dishina highlights the importance of leadership styles in dealing with understaffing whereby he describes how various leadership styles can be used to facilitate healthy working environments. To ensure a healthy working environment, there is need to maintain appropriate staffing levels. Apart from creating a healthy environment as highlighted by Dishina, the issue of understaffing can also be dealt with by engaging in collaborative formats with nursing organizations and nursing schools which could come in handy as fountains of skill and manpower (Nevidjon and Erickson, 2001).
