Social services are considered to be one of the most activities for the development and improvement of a society, especially in the developed Western societies. Recognizing the importance of social services and feeling responsible as a citizen of the society to make some contributions, I decided to join this profession. I am associated with this profession from the last 15 years and I believe that I have been successful enough in terms of professional growth in this field as well as in terms of my contributions to the society. During the perusal of my assignments at work, I always felt pleasure to help out the troubled families. Resolving the problems of families at risk always made me feel proud. Helping out the families to stay together is not only a valuable contribution to the society but it also gives a feeling of satisfaction to the person involved in any such effort.

After spending years in this profession, I now feel that I need to further broaden my perspective and for this purpose getting some additional education is necessary. Realizing the need for further education, I started searching for a discipline of study that would help me to the most in improving my professional capabilities and broaden my vision. After evaluating several options, I came to the conclusion that an MBA degree will serve the purpose to the maximum. I believe that the knowledge and exposure that I will get through an MBA program will be helpful in managing the resources of my organization in the most effective manner. Moreover, it will also allow me to identify new and improved methods for overall organizational functions. I believe that business education provides enough considerable knowledge about the behavior of individuals in organizations. This knowledge and exposure will increase my understanding about people's behavior and their expectations from their jobs. I will be able to manage and train my staff in the most effective manner and will improve the services of the direct service providers who visit homes of the families at risk. Effective training and improved quality of services will not only increase my organization's contribution to the society but will also improve the utilization of resources.

Moreover, an MBA degree will help me develop a strategic thinking mindset, which is very important for the success and growth of an organization. As I am currently serving as a supervisor of a social service organization, I am responsible for several different tasks including the management of my team of service providers, looking after the finances of the ongoing projects, maintaining high quality of services etc. It is, therefore, important for me to develop an ability to strategically think about the issues on hand and to identify solutions for the problems at hand. Business education will therefore prove to be considerable asset in this regard.

Throughout my professional career, I have proved myself to be an important asset for the organizations, with whom I have worked. My ability to foresee the problems and to devise strategies for their resolution has allowed me to take a leadership role during the commencement of my job. I believe that I posses excellent interpersonal skills and because of this I am able to easily resolve the differences among the team members. My good interpersonal skills have also proved to be helpful in gaining trust of my subordinates and colleagues. As a result of this, I have been able to accomplish my job with lesser problems and delays. During my work assignments, I have been continuously dealing with a culturally diversified population, which has allowed me to develop an ability to adapt myself according to the requirements of the situation and the environment. Moreover, I have dealt with a diversified range of professionals during my job, which has provided me an opportunity to develop strong analytical skills especially with respect to reasoning and thinking. Throughout my professional career, I have worked in supervisory as well as support staff roles and my positive attitude towards the job, and my ability to listen to other's needs has allowed me to develop excellent interpersonal skills. As a manager or a supervisor, I have encouraged my subordinates to take initiatives, so that the quality of work can be improved. Moreover, I have also provided them opportunities for professional growth through training and education.
