4.0 Conclusion
Within the tourism industry there is a growing need for research to investigate the economic, social and environmental impacts of tourism (Beeton, 2004). However, existing research methods are based mostly on the social science approach to research that relives heavily on questionnaires. As this paper has demonstrated, research methods such as questionnaires and focus groups have their pros and cons, and each can be applied to produce meaningful results in the appropriate situations.
