These factors of influence impact all four functions of management: planning, organizing, leading and controlling.

Among the internal factors which influence the four dimensions of management, one could point out:

Planning: the personal capabilities of the manager to develop and implement a plan; the manager's capability to foresee future events; the company's mission and goals and its capability to achieve these goals, including its available resources

Organizing: available resources, including personnel; communication systems

Leading: managers' capabilities to motivate and influence the staff; the communication system and constant cooperation between staff and management

Controlling: the objectiveness of the managers in evaluating the actions implemented by the organization and his capability to correct misused ones

Among the external forces which impact the four functions of management, one could point out:

Planning: external developments in planning, such as technologies; external resources; the strategies implemented by the competition

Organizing: external relationships with partners, such as intermediaries, suppliers and other stakeholders

Leading: strategies implemented by the competition; techniques required by the environment, such as minimum wage or environment protection

Controlling: the performance standards implemented by other companies or supervising and regulating authorities
