Descriptive Narrative Rough Draft about a Camping Trip

As the sun began to set over the mountain range, the group of friends in their mid-20s set up their tents and built a campfire. The air was crisp and cool, a welcome relief from the heat of the day and the city they had left behind. They had been planning this camping trip for weeks and were excited to finally be out in nature.

They sat around the campfire, roasting marshmallows and telling stories, and before long dusk settled into night and the stars shone in the sky above. The Milky Way was clearly visible from their field unencumbered by city lights; the group of friends looked up at it, stretching across the darkness in a beautiful arc. It was a sight that none of them remembered ever seeing so vividly before now.

In the morning, they woke up to the sound of birds chirping and the smell of bacon cooking over the fire: the early bird among them had gotten up to get breakfast going for all. After eating heartily, they set out on a hike to explore the surrounding wilderness. The trail wound through towering trees, over a delightful brook, and finally up a steep hill before returning them gently to their campsite by a roundabout route. It was a challenging hike in parts, but the stunning views made it all worthwhile. Plus, when they had reached the summit, they were met with a breathtaking panoramic view of the valley below, where the city lay in all its electric glory. They could see for miles in every direction, and the beauty of the landscape was almost overwhelming. They stood there for a long time, taking in the scene and feeling awe.

Upon returning to camp and the group spent the rest of the day relaxing and enjoying the outdoors. They played games, read books, and simply had fun being in each other's company. As the sun began to set once again, they gathered around the campfire for another night of stories and s'mores. That night, as each one lay in his or her tent, listening to the sounds of the forest, all felt a deep sense of peace and contentment. They had been able to escape the stresses of everyday life and connect with nature. They knew that they would always remember this camping trip and the sense of renewal and joy it had brought them.
